  2. A: YGM Marz - Only The Beginning (EP) - Mixing and Master Engineer This project specifically made me grow as a engineer, understand the job we got in our hands!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My Online Beat Store, my YouTube for Beats, and all projects that come thru.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: YES! Bernardo Feliciano [Mali], definitely!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, just the practicality of it. I'm able to mix anywhere without having to bring all the hardware with me.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: That you'll get a solid and full track, as long as the audio stems allow to do so.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The challenge of creating a song from the ground up.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: I'm mostly asked to show some of my demos. I'll send my portfolio folder, with "before" and "after" mixes.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That mixing and mastering is just volumes and EQ's, easy peasy. WRONG!

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: How long they have been involved in music. Where can I find their portfolio. Trying to know whats the plan.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Trust the process, be humble, and invest in yourself hiring engineers for your tracks.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: MacBook Pro, Yamaha HS8, Apollo Twin MK2, AKG C-214 and Komplete Kontrol MIDI Keyboard. Gotta be able to do some music!

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Brightness, fullness, overall a well balanced track as a final result.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I like to vibe out to the track for a while, trying to catch a vibe or an idea about what I believe it has to be done next. I go deep into editing the vocals, volume automations, tuning, breaths, etc... Set up a rough mix for the Instrumental stems, just to have a guide for the vocals, and from there, i just keep building each other, until it sounds solid. And thats for Mixing, obviously there are many steps to get to the last one, depending on the track I'm working on.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Speakers: Yamaha HS7 Audio Interface: Universal Audio - Apollo Twin MK2 Microphone: AKG C-214 Headphones: Audio Technica ATH-M50X MIDI Keyboard: Komplete Kontrol M32

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Mike Dean, Jaycen Joshua, Mixed by Ali, Manny Marroquin, Alex Tumay, and others...
