Interview with True Vision Music

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My biggest project is that of my own. I'm releasing several new singles soon and I believe they are top notch.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am working on releasing some of my own singles and growing my network of audio engineers and clients.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Where to begin, there are so many talented people on this platform. If I felt a project wasn't right for me, I would reference the customer to someone else.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: While I have owned many high-end analog processors, I am 100% digital now, because I love the workflow and feel that my quality of work is just as good as when using analog gear.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To ensure their complete satisfaction and to give their songs the final polish/rockstar quality treatment.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The music. It's always been the music.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Technical questions about audio which I am more than happy to share my knowledge/expertise on.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That anyone can do it. My work is a commitment and art form in itself that takes a great deal of time and experience to excel at.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask about the project details, inspiration, desired direction, and overall goals.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Take your time and do your research. Also, reach out and see if you like the service provider.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My studio monitors, DAC, laptop, and control surfaces.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started on my own. I learned through purchasing online courses and books. I finally went to school and have my Bachelor's Degree.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Modern and edgy.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Deadmau5 because he is one of my biggest inspirations.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Have fun!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: EDM.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Without a doubt, audio mixing. I have been mixing audio for 8+ years now and a Bachelor's Degree in what I do.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring my love and passion for EDM, knowledge and expertise, and commitment to the customer for their complete satisfaction.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I like to get organized first and then listen through the track a few times. I try to draw an emotional excitement line throughout the song and listen for any problems in the track. Once I have my sense of direction for the song, I get to mixing.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio is acoustically treated for optimal monitoring. I have a mastering grade monitoring system with Barefoot studio monitors and a dedicated mastering DAC from Crane Song.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Some of my biggest inspirations are electronic artists like Deadmau5, Martin Garrix, and Zeds Dead.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mix/master EDM songs for digital streaming.
