Eduardo Cherchi (Ed Zero) on SoundBetter

Eduardo Cherchi a.k.a Ed Zero is an Argentine multi-instrumentalist songwriter, producer and sound engineer based in Madrid, Spain. He studied classical guitar and composition and Sound Engineering, at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, with the aim of being able to create, understand music, and to help other artists with his music production.

His music could be tagged as progressive rock or crossover prog, which is the mix of different genres: a bluesy and melodic guitar style, classic rock riffs, acoustic songs, ambient atmospheres and complex prog sections. He is very influenced by the 60s or 70s progressive, psychedelic and art rock, mixed with modern rock and metal sounds.
He studied classical guitar and composition at the Professional Music Conservatory Teresa Berganza and Sound and Image Engineering, at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. In his early years as a classical musician and composer, he had written electroacoustic and experimental music for soloists or ensembles.
At the same time he was working on his soloist progressive rock project. Since 2014 he has been recording demos and ideas. Some of that ideas became his first records, such as Ten: the Trip (2018), an ambient long piece composed for a live performance at Polo Festival organized by Radio Relativa; Origin EP (progressive metal/rock) and Travel To Dementia (experimental/art rock EP with his old band Brightstar Project)
After a long hiatus, on September 3rd 2021, he released his sophomore record Odyssey of Thoughts, a concept album about a person who is lost in his thoughts, full of sadness and darkness, and tries to find the light in his life. Meanwhile he had released with his eclectic blues-samericana side project Caffeine at Midnight.
