I'm open minded for anything musical. I'm dependable, professional and a quick study.

Trained as a electric and acoustic bassist, and capable of playing fretted, fretless and string basses.
I’ve gigged nationally as an ensemble and session musician/singer for numerous groups in multiple ethnic genres. I’ve got a great ear to sing vocal harmonies and adept playing acoustic, electric guitar and mandolin.
Currently a staff musician/engineer at Media Sound Chicago.

What can I say about Rocco? He's simply one of the most versatile and professional musicians I know. He played most of the bass tracks (acoustic upright, electric, fretless) on a recording project I did, and his input was integral to the creative path we took. He's a joy to work with in a live performance; his energy is infectious! He has a deep well of experience to draw from, and fits many styles: rock, folk, jazz, swing, country--you name it!

Rocco Phipps is the Best. If you're looking for a talented, versatile Bass Player, Vocalist, Entertainer, Fast Study, or Best Friend, Rocco is your man. He's definitely MY MAIN MAN.
A number of years ago I needed a last minute substitute Bass Player for gig in Lake Geneva with my 50' & 60's Oldies Rock Band. Rocco came highly recommended, and performed beyond exceptions. He knew all the songs and added his wonderful warm personality to the mix.
About a year later when we needed a new permanent Bass Player for our band, we all said: "Hey, what about that guy from the Lake Geneva Gig."

Rocco is a true professional. I hired him last minute for an event, and he just fell right into place. He brings so much to the table. He’s intuitive, has great vocals, and great stage presence. I’ve also had the pleasure of seeing him perform with other bands and he’s spot on.
