check_circleVerified (Client)I worked with so many drummers (big names included), but very rare I got a session so well recorded and performed. Richie's sound is so warm and his groove is so accurate! Very recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Richie Dittrich on a pop session, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The drums he recorded for the track brought so much life to the song. The grooves were tight, the sound was punchy, and it added the perfect energy to the whole vibe. It was clear that a lot of care and skill went into each part, and it made the whole process so smooth. Highly recommend working with Richie if you want top-quality drum recordings!

Richie has the real stuff. I call him a groove warrior. He’s a killer feel, total control, serious attention to sound, an excellent knowledge of which drums to use for any given track and to top it off an incredible cooperative spirit. Commitment, finesse, passion and fire.
Interview with Richie Dittrich
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I’d describe my style as groove-driven and versatile. I focus on making sure the drums serve the song, whether that means laying down a solid backbeat, locking in a tight rhythm, or adding a bit of swing. It’s all about supporting the vibe and feel of the track while keeping things dynamic
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mostly work on R&B, funk, jazz, and singer-songwriter tracks
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record from a home studio with vintage kits like the Hayman Vibrasonic and Sonor Phonic, and snares including the Ludwig Supraphonic, Acrolite, and Yamaha Anton Fig signature. My setup includes high-quality mics from Audio Technica, Sennheiser, and Shure, routed through a Midas Venice 320 desk into a Digiface interface. This setup lets me capture everything from warm, vintage tones to clear, modern sounds with a rich, organic feel
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by drummers who know how to bring a song to life. Drummers like Steve Gadd, Bernard Purdie, and Jim Keltner have had a huge influence on me, each bringing their unique feel and energy to their playing. I’m also drawn to drummers who not only play but engineer their own sound from home studios. Their creativity in shaping both the performance and the sound motivates me to approach my work with that same attention to detail and personal touch
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I do for my clients is recording custom drum tracks across various genres. This often includes laying down grooves for singer-songwriters, creating tight rhythms for R&B, and providing dynamic beats for funk, soul, or Americana tracks. I typically work from demos or rough mixes and provide either complete drum recordings or specific parts, like just the kick or snare, depending on the client’s needs.
