Hello I am Nurettin Özdemir also known as "Frank Candid" I have studied mastering over here in Denmark for almost 7 years. I started being interested in the concept, when i began analyzing my favorite songs and the people who had worked on it, behind the scenes. One of the first mastering engineers i learned about was the man behind Eminems mixes - his name was Brian "Big Bass" Gardner. And when i learned about that name, i just started searching for all the information i could find about mastering.
The process of mastering has always amazed me because it's the final stage before releasing your art for the world to experience.
Mastering, deals with equalization, boosting the stereo image of a track - balancing; complimenting the mix; getting it to translate on all sound devices and most importantly reaching the industry standard LUFS or RMS levels so that your songs can be comparable commercially. Look at mastering like house arrangement, that meaning; Mixing would be the part where we're cleaning the house, while mastering is the decoration part where the objective is to make the house look as pleasing as possible for the visitors.
