Elyes Bouchoucha on SoundBetter

I’ve collaborated with artists and bands like Sepultura, Don Airey (Deep Purple), Myrath, Pretty Maids... blending Pop, Metal, Rock, and orchestral elements with North African, African, and Arabic influences. I’ve also created TV and radio commercials for advertising agencies like Havas and Not'Prod.

What I’ve learned from these diverse projects is that whether you’re crafting a powerful rock anthem, a captivating orchestral piece, or a compelling commercial, every story should truly resonate and engage your audience.
Got a project in mind? Reach out and let’s chat about the details.

- If you have an album but feel something's missing, let's create that perfect track to complete your vision.

- I’ll send over a short, minimalistic demo for you to get a feel of what I can bring to the table.

- Whether you need a dynamic piece to fit a movie scene or help finishing a song that’s got you stuck, I’m here to assist. If you have a chorus without verses or vice versa, I’ve got you covered.

- My goal is for you to LOVE the final track. I typically offer up to two rewrites/edits because getting the artistry just right is crucial.

All songs are split evenly among all songwriters and publishers involved, but if you prefer a work-for-hire arrangement, that’s an option too.

Let’s make some great music together and bring your vision to life!

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’m especially proud of conducting the strings for the legendary band Sepultura. I grew up listening to their music, so it was an incredible honor to contribute my musical style to their album. Being part of such a project was a dream come true and a highlight of my career.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment, I’m working with Japanese artist Nozomu Wakai on his next album and creating music for TV ads. Additionally, I’m also dedicating time to my solo album.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital, because of its practicality and flexibility in the creative process. It allows me to experiment more freely and make adjustments quickly. Plus, it offers a vast array of tools and sounds that enhance my creative expression.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: My promise to my clients is to bring their vision to life with creativity and passion. I commit to delivering high-quality, unique music that resonates with their audience. Your satisfaction and the emotional impact of the music are my top priorities.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: What I like most about my job is the interaction with people. It’s always a treasure to discover new thoughts, ideas, and imaginations. The creative exchange is truly fascinating and inspires me every day.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: Customers often ask how I can blend different musical styles so seamlessly. My answer is that I draw on my diverse cultural influences and years of experience to create a unique sound that resonates with their vision. I listen carefully to their needs and tailor each project to achieve the perfect harmony of styles.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that it’s just about making music. In reality, it’s about understanding the client's vision and telling a story through sound. It’s a deeply collaborative and creative process, not just technical work.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: When working with prospective clients, I ask: 1- What is the vision or story you want to convey through your music? 2- Are there specific genres or influences you want to incorporate? 3- Do you have any reference tracks or examples that capture the sound you're aiming for? These questions help me understand their needs and ensure we’re aligned creatively.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: My advice is to clearly communicate your vision and expectations from the start. Be open about your goals and any specific influences you want to include. A successful collaboration hinges on clear communication and mutual understanding, so make sure to choose a provider who listens and aligns with your creative needs.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: If I were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, they’d be: 1- A Midi keyboard. 2- A versatile audio interface. 3- A laptop with my favorite DAW and plugins. 4- A set of studio headphones. 5- An endless coffee machine provider. (Creativity and caffeine go hand in hand :) )

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I started as a violinist at age 5, then transitioned to piano, which deepened my love for composing. Discovering my passion for creating original music led me to study musicology, where I explored the philosophy and intricacies of songwriting. Over the past 15 years, I’ve built a career blending these experiences into unique and impactful compositions.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: I’d describe my style as a fusion of Pop, Rock, and orchestral elements, enriched with North African, African, and Arabic influences. My approach blends diverse cultural sounds with contemporary genres to create unique and dynamic music that resonates on multiple levels.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: I’d love to work with Metallica. Their powerful fusion of metal and orchestral elements aligns with my style, and their music has always inspired me. Collaborating with them would be an incredible opportunity to blend their iconic sound with my unique influences, creating something truly epic.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: If you listen to a song and don’t remember the chorus, it’s a sign to revisit your project. A memorable chorus is key to making a song stand out, so make sure it’s catchy and resonates with listeners.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: I’m a diverse musician with a passion for exploring various genres to understand their unique dynamics. While I love working across rock, pop, metal, classical, and world music, my main focus is on creating multicultural music that blends these influences into something truly unique. My curiosity drives me to experiment and bring rich, diverse sounds to every project.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: My strongest skill is my attention to detail. Every element of a track, from the arrangement to the mix, is carefully crafted to ensure it serves the overall vision. I believe that focusing on the small details makes a big difference in creating a polished and impactful final product.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: Emotions and a touch of addiction ;)

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: I start by understanding my client's vision and the project's needs, whether it's a full composition or a specific musical element. I then create a draft or demo to ensure we're on the same page, making adjustments based on feedback. Finally, I deliver the polished track, ensuring it meets high standards and resonates with the intended audience.

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: I’m inspired by a diverse range of musicians and producers: Puccini for his dramatic compositions, Salem Al Fakir for his innovative blend of genres, Black Sabbath for their groundbreaking rock sound, and Max Martin for his masterful pop songwriting. Each brings a unique perspective that fuels my creativity and drives me to push boundaries in my own work.
