2013 Texas Steel Guitar Association “Up and Comer’ Award” , 2021 “Junior Knight’s Steel Guitar Jam Pioneer Award”. Playing on many demos, around Texas and the world through overdub technology.
Growing up as the son, and grandson of preachers, created an environment where music was always being played. Some of my earliest, and fondest memories revolved around Country Music specifically, both in and out of Church.
Back in the 90s as a child I used to sit on my Granddaddy‘s lap watching The Saturday night Grand Ole Opry, being indoctrinated on the finest players and singers in the business. Those early times in my life help shape , and birth a life long love affair with the Steel Guitar and Country music. In 2013 I was recognized by the Texas Steel Guitar Association as one of the finest “Up and Comers” of the instrument. In 2021 I was given a “Pioneer Award” by Steel Guitarist Junior Knight, along with several Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Famers for being an exemplary performer and player. I have been fortunate to study under some of the finest players in the business , specifically the great “Cowboy” Eddie Long , formally of Hank Williams Jr. , Kenny Chesney, And currently with the great Jamey Johnson. My other influences, to name a few, include the Great John Hughey, Lloyd Green, Paul Franklin, Julian Tharpe, And Mike Johnson. I have been fortunate to play music professionally now for the last several years and share the stage and studio with some of the best singers and musicians in the world. I hope too do so for a long time.
