I felt very seen when Andrew Marlin, mandolinist from Watchouse, said, fingers and voice trembling as he held his mandolin: "the world is more than bluegrass." I used to practice playing faster and faster ... and I felt completely empty. So I am exactly the wrong guy if you are seeking lightning fast licks, etc. My approach is different.
I found SoundBetter working on my own music, and have found such success here that I decided to try and live on both sides of the ledger. I play a variety of stringed instruments, but I think that the most differentiated offering I have is my mandolin playing. I play primarily indie folk music. I have fun processing with effects to create unusual sounds, or playing clean. I generally am happiest layering simple concepts.
