When staying in Paris, I got in touch with Didier for producing my first song. We went on a magical journey, finding my sound and dynamics in my music and the song. Didier is very talented musician and producer. He understood me very well and manage to capture me as an artist and helped me in recording the song, how I envisioned it. Thank you Didier for the amazing work. Until we meet again on a new project.

I’m a drummer/singer and I know Didier Théry as a bassist, composer and sound engineer for 15 years. I play the live and studio drums for V1NCM4N (a French Pop Rock Band, Did is the bassist and producer of the band) and I can say that everything seems to be easy with Did. When he’s in the team, on stage or in the studio, YOU FEEL SAFE ! He’s very talented and efficient. This guy is well known in France and it’s fully justified..

    I'm a french professional composer/arranger.
I have had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Didier many times. Each time, he knew how to take my musical project much further than I would have done alone.
This guy ROCKS ! (in every situation). And (most important for me) he's also really cool.
When you’ve worked with him once, it’s hard to work with someone else after...

Not only Didier is a skilled technician with a perfect knowledge of vintage/modern tools (and the curiosity to dig new sounds) but he is also a talented musician with tasteful ideas. It is a pleasure to work with him: fast, effective, and cost efficient. He will make you play better and sound great !

Interview with Didier Théry

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am especially proud to have worked on Gaelle Buswel's album "Your Journey". Recorded at ICP Brussel and mixed at home Givraines near Paris. I produced the album from start to finish but it's really a collective work that gave this result. we spent 10 days recording in a very creative environment with all the stock musical instruments and analog gear on site. And Gaelle is such a generous artist, It was an incredible moment...

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm mixing a tribute show to Christophe, a cult French singer. And songs from new artists.

  12. A: Choose your profession well, you will never work. I don't work !

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: the price ? It depends !!

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: We'll see that in the mix !!

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: Can I listen to something from you ? What are you expecting from me ?

  20. A: I'll tell him to work well and prepare what he wants to produce, record and/or mix.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I will never go to a desert island.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I have always been a musician , I mainly play bass. over time and the different projects in which I participated I learned recording and production. I set up a studio which evolved and grew and for 25 years I have been working for a lot of artists.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  38. A: it depends on the project... For a mix, I like to prepare and clean a session, and after I start to mix until the artist and I are satisfied. From a demo, the process is longer and more winding. I work a lot on my side, I suggest things, a direction, I speak with the artist at different stages, if we agree we move forward until the mix is completed.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I produce music, sometimes I only mix but most of the time I start from scratch or from demos to evolve the song with my inspiration and my ideas while always listening to the artist. it's a process of sharing, exchanging and reacting.
