Interview with Danybazz
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My latest EP, (THE MAY PACKAGE), I basically wore all the hats on the project (songwriter, music producer and sound engineer) and it came out SUPERB!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a joint project with a label.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm new here,so No.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Less baggage, less maintenance, plug and play, uniformity of sound. Plus there are a lot of analog emulations; they might not sound as good as analog, but then, the AVERAGE Listener can't tell the difference.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to deliver professional and pristine sounding mixes.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact you can play with effects and i to can also be undone when you go too far.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you make me sound like Xx Artiste? (Lol) What's your mixing fee? Who have you mixed for? What DAW do you use to mix?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think we can make a bad song sound fantastic. Technically we can make a bad song slightly better. But it would still be a bad song that's well engineered.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What theme are you going for? Is this part of a project? Any reference tracks? Any reference artist in mind?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Mixing and Mastering services, Songwriting.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, speakers,my midi keyboard,an audio interface and a condenser microphone
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started up as a songwriter/Artiste. I added Sound engineering to my skillset along the way. I've been doing this for more than 7 years; 5 years professionally.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Chill but Energetic (think Post Malone)
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Drake and hi engineer NOAH 40 SHEBIB. Reason: They came into the music scene doing unconventional things. They are not afraid to experiment no matter how bad that makes them look. I Love to work with highly creative persons, just like them.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A tip: Study the arrangement of popular songs and implement in your work process.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work mainly in the Trap,Drill and World Genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill would be the ability to discern what would go up the charts and get the average listener hyped (being a recording artist also myself)
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I am a very diverse listener when it comes to the music I listen to. So I'll say I bring creativity into any song project I'm hired to work on. I do what is needed and then I show you what else can be done to make the song better.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Firstly,I organize my tracks into folders and groups so I can see where I'm going clearly. Then i perform clean up tasks;remove noise, pops and clicks, etc. Then I balance the initial levels to set the foundation of the track. Afterwards I apply effects and master.

A: I am a minimalist; I own a 16gb Windows Dell Model Laptop,M Audio Bx5 monitors,Audio Techinca Condenser microphone, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.
