My career started over 10 years ago when I was 17 years old working as a session musician for artists signed to Polydor and various Sony record labels. It was here that I realised my passion as a mixing engineer. Working with industry professionals in studios such as Rockfield and Livingston, among others, I have honed my craft as an engineer with live rock/country/soul musicians and rnb artists, respectively. I offer mixing and editing services for most genres of music and remote drum tracking/programming for any genre. My work ethic and passion for each project I undertake has created my reputation as a first call for many artists and bands due to my drive to realise their vision and push the boundaries and quality of their work to new levels. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure the provider is friendly, helpful and generally easy to work with, no matter the prestige they bring.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My mixing consists of utilising and bringing to life the artists vision, and to expand upon the existing atmosphere of each individual track, rather than impose my own will onto my work. This transfers to drum programming and live tracking, it is your vision and I am here to help you realise the best version of your work.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have 2 studio setups. My mixing room setup uses Universal Audio equipment and Neumann KH120 Monitors with a sub. I sometimes patch in through my recording setup for some analog colour. My recording setup consists of a Audient ASP8024 Heritage desk and stereo 1176LN compressors among other equipment. Microphones include: Cole 4038s, Neumann U87, TLM, and numerous Shure, Senheiser, Aston and AKG microphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Andrew Scheps is a mixing engineer I am particularly inspired by due to his natural, glued sound he crafts no matter the genre.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mix engineering typically for bands and artists utilising live musicians and software instruments, and drum programming for any and all genres of music. Live drum tracking is a common occurence to due to my experience as a drummer and the top quality recording sound I create.
