Ryan Mannebach

Funky Ass Producer & Engineer

Ryan Mannebach on SoundBetter

Ryan's bold/inventive mixing and guitar playing make him a great choice for any production that is looking to do something out of the ordinary.

One of Chicago's top young talents, Ryan hears in high definition. Mixes such as "April Moon" by Noble Bautista, showcase everything Ryan can do as a mixing engineer and background guitarist. Lush vocal harmonies dripping in phase-shifting gooeyness drift in and out of your peripheral hearing as the tight, low thumping drums and bass keep you grooving along steadily.

If you are looking for out of the ordinary, extraterrestrial productions, well what are you waiting for??? Shoot him a message and get your track sounding head and shoulders above the rest!

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Ryan Mannebach

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Definitely both.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: That I only shred rock and funk guitar. I pride myself on my mixing and mastering abilities. I also love producing hip-hop beats (and other instrumentals). I also love songwriting, and co-songwriting. It is one of my favorite things.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: What is the overall vision of your project? What is your goal with this body of work? How important is the live performance of your music compared to a more meticulously layered approach? How important is experimentation / improvisation to you with this project? What is your timeline for release?

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Don't be afraid to over explain.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  28. A: Dramatic, bold mixes & exciting instrumental session work on guitar, bass, and drums.

  29. Q: What's your typical work process?

  30. A: It varies widely. There is no one-size-fits-all strategy to making a great piece of recorded art. I do whatever needs to be done, and I trust my musical instincts.

  31. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  32. A: I have a home studio setup with very high quality preamps, microphones, and a full arsenal of guitars, drums, basses, keyboards, midi controllers, and synthesizers.
