Interview with Bazzy
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My latest release, I'm very proud because I worked with a recognized rapper in my country called Roylets who felt very very satisfied with the way I worked with him, also, he loved the final result as much as I did. I recorded him, I made the beat, mix and master :)
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a song where the artist is rapping but the whole music is EDM! Very sticky!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don't know anyone yet..
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, depending on what you are looking for, there are no rules.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will give my best all the time, you will always receive a good treatment and I will always listen to what you ask for! You are the most important!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The reaction of my clients once the project is finished!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: When can I hear the final result? Maximum one week/week and a half.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That you need the best gear or the best plugins to sound good.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: - What vibe are you trying to transmit with your song (aggressiveness, happiness, sadness, etc)? - Is there any song/artist that you would like me to be inspired by?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To feel free to ask for any thing he/she thinks that could sound good on his/her project, I will mould it on it.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop of course, my headphones, my midi controller, my interface and my monitors even though I could not mix with them so good in an open place haha :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this professionally for 4 years, but I compose and play music (I play the piano) since I was 12 years old.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A bit electronic without losing the essence of the project Im working on.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Drake, I really like his sound!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Let yourself be guided by your ear, every song is different and every song was recorded different too, don't produce based ONLY on the guides you can find on the internet.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: HipHop, EDM and Pop music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Making any genre to sound real fresh without losing it's essence.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Freshness, that's whe word. Also, a real clean mix and a powerful master.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Once I talked with the client and we got real clear about what he/she's looking for and what I can add to his/her project, I start working on it and then I send him/her a final .mp3 master, the client can request as many changes as needed until he/she feels 100% satisfied with the final result, YOUR SATISFACTION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, as an artist, I know how important it is to love your project before sharing it with the world :)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is located in my house, I have a room which is all conditioned for mixing and recording purposes, I work with a pair of KRK Rokit monitors, a Scarlett 2i2 interface, an Arturia 49 midi controller and a MXL900 microphone.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My main inspiration is Zecca, he has motivated me to be very experimental on my sound design as well as having a powerful sound on the final master.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I do is HipHop beats + mixing and mastering services which includes all the subgenres of it like Trap, Drill, etc. as well as EDM music.
