I am a singer-songwriter, currently studying anthropology and ethnomusicology in London. For the past two years, I have been learning Hindustani classical music at university, with a strong focus on microtonal precision, improvisation and melismatic phrases.
As part of my degree, I study musical cultures from across the world and I learn to perform oral musical traditions, such as Hindustani and West African music.
My interest lies in acoustic, folk, ambient, techno and of course, world music, but I am open to all genres and contaminations.
I sing in English but I have been learning and translating songs in Malian, Spanish, Hindi, Swahili, Italian so far, and I am eager lo learn more beautiful sounding languages from around the world!
