Interview with Adam Williams

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Digital, currently can’t afford the thousands of dollars worth of analog gear I wished I had. But it’s quite incredible the results you can achieve 100% in the Box

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I will make sure the end product is exactly what you were hoping for.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Giving the final product to the client and hearing their reaction.

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: Mixing to new artists may seem unimportant/not needed. What I does go unheard/unnoticed to the average listener because of an expectation over the years of music and mixing but without a mix your song will for sure stand out… but most likely will be skipped and won’t be listened to.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Laptop, Apollo Twin X, My Monitors, a cable and a guitar!

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: 13 year old me wrote the next big hit and I needed to record it! with no cash in pocket I hit record in GarageBand and that kick started a life long obsession with audio engineering. 5 years ago I was an apprentice at a local studio under the wing of the head engineer learned a lot of great things and continue to work out of the studio. Lately I’ve learnt a lot from URM Academy learning from our industries greats.

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: 5 Seconds of Summer. Long time listener and they make some killer songs.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Great raw recordings before the mix will make the final mix incredible.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
