Rose Boketoft

Remote Multigenre Mixing

Rose Boketoft on SoundBetter

If you want your song to reach its full potential at an affordable price, I'm the engineer for you. I will mix your song and work with you to bring your song to the next level.

Hi there! I'm Rose, and I look forward to working together on your next project.

I'm a mixing engineer and live sound tech, with a few years experience. My primary service is mixing, and I'm happy to take a stab at any genre you can throw at me, though I have most experience, and feel most at home, mixing pop-rock, rock and heavy music. I'm also happy to assist in the recording process, both in person and remotely, though do note that I don't have a studio.

My focus is bringing your vision to life, and wokring closely with you to get your song to its full potential.

Interview with Rose Boketoft

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Digital. As good as analog sounds, it's not a big enough of a difference to justify the thousands of dollars the gear costs. Side by side you can definitely tell a difference between digital and analog mixing, but with a few extra steps and some neat tricks, digital can sound just as good.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: That it's easy. I understand where this misconception comes from. The process of mixing is a rather simple process when you break it down, but getting consistently good quality is the hard part.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Reference your mix. Always reference your mix to professional mixes, otherwise you can get stuck on the same song for hours on end without actually making any progress.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: I mostly work on pop-rock, rock and heavier music. I'll work on pretty much anything (or at least try it once!) but those genres are the ones I have most experience and feel most at home in.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: The most common work I do is mixing. My clients will send me however many tracks they have, and I send them back a finished mix. Of course there's also a lot of room for input from the clients.
