Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will be the most responsive mix engineer or songwriter you have worked with.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Nothing facilitates getting into the "flow state" as much as music creation. I love to immerse myself in the process, and the knowledge that I am helping an artist to realize their vision makes it that much better.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop and Pop/Country (recently some traditional country as well).
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Max Martin is a huge inspiration. The stratospheric level of perfection to his melodies and mixes is humbling. On the other side of the spectrum is Dave Cobb, and I admire his restraint in letting the sounds be what they are.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I wear a lot of hats and am involved in the raw song creation stage of things (sitting in a circle with guitars and chasing down melodies and great lyrical hooks) to producing a demo track for pitching and mixing projects for outside clients. I love it all and think each area helps to feed the others.
