I've toured Africa and Europe playing keys for thousands of people, but when I'm in front of my keyboard in my own musical space, I try to tour the universe. I'm growing more and more into my sound every day, and I'd love to be able to bring my unique character and playing style to your next musical project.

I'm Dean Barrett and I've been a touring musician, a session musician, composer and bandleader for the last decade of my life. I've played South African laced blues with Dan Patlansky, I've composed some delicious oddities for local theatre and even children's audio books, I've played piano at restaurants, at weddings, at festivals and for my niece's school recital. I've opened for Incubus and been on a South African Music Award winning rock album, but my best shows oftentimes end up being deep jams with other amazing musicians in divebars in Melville.
I bring both a level of experience and adaptability to the artists that I work with, always looking to serve the song in the most musical way possible, while injecting my own unique approach in creating memorable keyboard parts.
I have access to beautiful keyboard instruments like my touring Nord Stage 2, my analogue Moog Sub37 synthesizer and a host of beautiful cinematic software instruments from reputable studios like Spitfire Audio which allows me to bring immense versatility to any artist's music.
