Michael Phillip Costanzo of MPC Recordings has been behind the mixing board since 1986. Entering the NYC professional music industry through internships at various NYC midtown recording studios, Michael was exposed to all the state-of-the-art recording techniques of the time. In the 1980's, with all the facets of high-end recording, the industry was just beginning its transformation from the analog platform to digital recording and computers. Michael, along with all other engineers in professional recording, had to learn the new “digital way" while still using the standard analog formats. This involved the merging or “syncing” of both the “big analog audio machines “and the new digital formats. This was a complex process, however, customary practice for working engineers.
This experience from the 1980's, thru the 90's and into the 21rst century has served Michael Costanzo well. It has refined his approach to music now as both "producer" and "mix man". Michael recently returned to college full time, to maintain a competitive edge, obtaining a BA in Digital Design (focusing on sound design and video post) from Pennsylvania State University in 2022. Whatever the outcome of Michael’s new educational pursuits, along with his present career …it’s all part of the journey.
