Velvet R. Wings

Singer, top-line writer

Velvet R. Wings on SoundBetter

Classically trained singer working in different genres. I am a vocalist with 10+ years of experience from Eastern Europe based in Lausanne, Switzerland and I am here to offer you my services.

I usually work with symphonic metal and folk-rock pieces, but sometimes get a chance to work on pop and EDM projects and at this point I can say I'm really versatile and can adapt my voice to specific demands (like making it sound more "pop" than "opera").

As a session musician, I specialise in creating top lines and adding backing vocals to a pre-existing track, making choirs by layering my voice. I can work from a prepared sheet music or audio/midi. I always try to add something special to the songs I record to make the mood right and bring more life into the song.

My voice type is lyric/coloratura soprano and range is G3-D6.
I can confidently sing in English, French and Russian, can get by in German and Italian, also have sung in Italian, Spanish, Latin, Esperanto, Belarusian, Ukrainian and Irish. I'm never against experiments with artificial and made-up languages.

I also can help you revise your lyrics and check them for singability in the languages I know.

Let's work together to make your projects come to life!

Interview with Velvet R. Wings

  1. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  2. A: Passion and versatility.

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: Since I often work on fandom music and have a theatre background, I like to know about the character I'm supposed to represent at this moment which helps me to convey all the emotions and breathe additional life into the piece. No two songs I record are like each other.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: I like to work on symphonic metal (which is my strongest side) and anything that requires an "opera" voice. My second favourite to work with is folk rock. I also enjoy occasional pop or EDM project.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: Sound card: Audience iD4. Microphone: Rode NT1-A. DAW: Logic Pro X. I work from my home studio which is in a very old building which is good because I don't have any weird reflections.
