'Catchy, quality and quick!!' My previous clients (signed artists) agree that's how they'd describe my work in 3 words. Honestly, I'm in love with taking someone's idea, at any stage of completion, and making magic out of it. I can write and sing (or rap) any genre, but check the examples on my Soundcloud to see if what I do feels right.
Let's turn your idea into a hit worthy piece of music.
If you need someone who just 'gets it'... well, you've found them! Aside from having my work released by signed artists and having years of experience creating catchy, relatable, emotive work, my aim is to make sure your experience is quick, stress-free and enjoyable.

Endorse PHENIKXPHENIKX is a creative who shares a deep passion for music. With unprecedented attention to detail, his music will make you feel something… Everything! The work made is always emotive, moody, and interesting a kin to sonic works of art you can submerge yourself in. Dedicated and honest, you won’t regret working with him!
I've had the pleasure of working with PHENIKX a few times now. Each and every time he astounds me with his ability to transform my incoherent ramblings into exactly what I was picturing. I asked for a theme tune for my podcast with the directions of "upbeat but serious, nostalgic but modern" and he made something that I fell in love with instantly. He's friendly and professional and made me feel a part of the process where ever possible. I look forward to working with him again very soon. Thank you Phenikx!
Interview with PHENIKX
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I wrote an EP years ago at the point where I decided I was allowed to create music that didn't need other peoples' applause. I didn't even intend for anyone to hear it, I did it solely for myself, and honestly... it's amazing.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm always working on about 4 things at once hehe. I'm starting a podcast soon though, that's pretty fun!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Most likely, but I haven't trawled through all the profiles on here lol. I've got songs to write!!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Which ever delivers the feeling you want in the most effective way.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise I'll nail the brief. (I know, sounds over-confident, but... try me!)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love puzzles, and songwriting is like a puzzle to me. How do I best express what I want to express with the space, timing, instruments, vocals, harmonies and tools I've got.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Them: "How much?" Me: "Whatever we're both happy with!"
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I feel like people generally get it, tbh.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I generally ask them to send an example of something that's close to what they're looking for and they sometimes reply: 'but I don't want to sound like anyone else!' Yep, gotcha. But, I need to know whether you're more like Linkin Park or more like Doja Cat, know what I mean?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Feel free to tip in Krispy Kreme vouchers! (jk :P)
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Water purifier, yurt, magnifying glass (to make fire, coz there's no way I'm spending hours rubbing sticks together), bedding, a net.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Been creating music since a child. I can't go into all the ups and downs here, it's too much haha. Maybe I should write a book..?
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Omni-genre, catchy, memorable, bold, emotionally accurate.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Sipprell! Amazingly rich vocals, fully underrated, UK based.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Pitch correction is not just about being in key. It's about understanding the relationship between pitch and emotional expression.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Right now, UK R&B and hip-hop. I've worked on ALL sorts in the past though: metal, afrobeats, EDM, country, indie, etverything.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I can (and often do) write a song in real time.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Vibes!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to get a deep understanding of an artist and what they're about first. Then I'll listen to their track and get a sense of what it "feels" like to me. Once I have those two things in my mind, I match them up and get to writing!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Regular home studio, with a very un-regular mic (SE Z5600).
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: People that have an understanding of music that transcends genre. Pharrell, Sia, Imogen Heap, Amy Winehouse, etc.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Toplines!
