Hi, my name is Khiry D Landry aka KDL. I love music since I was a teenager, the artist side of it and the behind the scene side of it (Recording, Mixing, Etc). When I took a small break from being an hip hop artist and became a full time audio engineer 10 years ago after receiving my certification, I knew that was my true passion and calling. Ever since then I been recording and mixing local artists music and they love my work. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Music. Started off as an artist when I was a teen in high school in 2006. Then start doing in studio work like engineering, and production with other artists around 2011. So since 2006.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Its many of them, but to name a few: J.Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Curren$y. They all have their own sound and they never change who they are as a person. You can tell by their music and interviews.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop / Rap
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: That "Wake Up' feeling. Some tracks not all sounds lifeless, and I do my best to put heart in it.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Im a night owl, for me that's the best time to get work done.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My desk with all my gear close in arm reach and mic in the booth, ready to create.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: DJ Khaled, Rick Rubin, Jason Goldberg, Alchemist, Kanye West, etc.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Record and Mix their music. Help them if needed with their delivery while behind the microphone.
