Professional quality. Punchy and full-sounding. FREE, UNLIMITED REVISIONS. RADIO READY!

I'm Tyler, a professional audio engineer who specializes in recording, mixing & mastering rock/metal music, including all subgenres. After getting my bachelor's degree in audio engineering from Columbia College Chicago, I now own and operate Park Street Recording Studio in Elgin, IL. I have worked with hundreds of artists over the years, primarily local rock/metal bands.

My studio consists of high-quality gear that assists me in achieving that top notch sound, but the most important tool is my ears and experience. I have put in the time to master my craft, and I'm proud to share it with my clients.

Tyler is an amazing engineer! He is extremely patient and easy to work with. His studio is a true gem as the humble outside hides more space than you might think, great professional equipment, and an even better engineer within. We highly recommend any artist or musical group to seek out Tyler as you will not be disapointed!

Park Street Recording Studios has excellent recording gear, with an excellent audio engineer behind it all.
Music gets done as desired, with additional improvements I wouldn't have considered to do.
Always a pleasure working with Tyler, plan on doing so more, and definitely recommend! 🤘

Interview with Tyler Ford

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Multiple artists finishing up some singles and EPs! Mostly in the mixing/mastering phases.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Both - no need to limit myself. Analog will always have a unique sound and feel that many of my clients look for. Digital is very efficient and gives me tools that are not possible in the analog realm.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Working with amazing bands full of talent and promise.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: What genre is your music? How many tracks are there? Who do you want to sound like?

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I started off as a guitarist when I was a teenager and joined some bands. After high school I took music production classes at my local community college and fell in love with audio engineering. That's when I decided to go to Columbia College Chicago and finish my bachelor's degree in audio. I opened my own project studio while still in college and have never looked back.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Avoid "fixing it in the mix" when you can - get a good, clean recording.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Rock, metal, punk, pop, indie.
