Accomplished mezzo-soprano, specializing in new American opera and traditional classical music. Experienced recording artist in two studio albums and a part of multiple world premiere performances with producing organizations including American Lyric Theater, and the Center for Contemporary Opera.
Noted by Opera News for her “pathos and rich vibrant tone”, American mezzo-soprano Anna Laurenzo 2024-25 engagements include a return to Brooklyn Art Song Society for Dvorak’s Biblicke Pisne, and debuts with South Dakota Symphony in Handel’s Messiah and Quad City Symphony Orchestra for Mendelssohn’s Ein Sommernachtstraum.
She has joined the roster of The Metropolitan Opera and perforned with Lincoln Center Theater, Carnegie Hall, Fort Worth Opera, Madison Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Central City Opera, and in concert with Glacier Symphony, The Carolina Philharmonic, and Las Colinas Symphony. Ms. Laurenzo is dedicated to performance of contemporary music and has been seen in multiple world premiere operatic productions, including collaborations with acclaimed composers including Ricky Ian Gordon, Libby Larsen and David T. Little, with producing organizations including American Lyric Theater, and the Center for Contemporary Opera.. Beyond the opera house, Ms. Laurenzo maintains an active and engaging recital career, including standing artistic collaborations with Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago and Brooklyn Art Song Society.
