Shannon Austin Weese – Bass Guitarist & Music Creator I’m a seasoned bass player with a strong focus on pocket, feel, and serving the song. My background spans country, classic rock, blues, pop, and funk, with years of experience both on stage and behind the scenes in production environments.

Shannon Austin has spent most of his life immersed in music — both behind the scenes and on stage. Raised in a large, deeply rooted country-music family, music was never optional; it was part of daily life. While country shaped his foundation, Shannon ultimately carved his own musical path, branching into classic rock, funk, and pop — though a song or two from his country roots still finds its way into the mix.

At 22, Shannon founded Second Spin Studio, a mobile DJ service that quickly gained traction, entertaining audiences across Southern Ontario. Despite its success, something was missing. Shannon wanted more than playing music for people — he wanted to connect with them through his music and his sense of humour.

That spark was ignited watching the Barenaked Ladies live — “I wanted to be the guy with Kraft Dinner being thrown at him.” Later, seeing Jeff Healey and Colin James share the stage sealed it. The passion, drive, and authenticity they brought to their performances made one thing clear: Shannon wanted to be up there, too.
