Professional R&B vocalist & vocal producer from the Bay Area. Self-produced EP. Global client base.
I'm a professional R&B vocalist and producer based in the Bay Area, known for smooth leads, lush harmonies, and emotionally resonant delivery. I self-produced and released my debut EP in 2025 and have since worked with clients across the globe.
I specialize in full vocal arrangements-- from toplines and harmony stacks to ad-libs and background layers (with an emphasis on tone, clarity, and vibe). Whether you have a rough demo or a fully produced track, I'm here to bring your vision to life with precision and soul.
Let's collaborate on something unforgettable.

Interview with ERIKA
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I did a few features for a really dope artist by the name of Newman and he's dropping his project in a few months, which means I'll be introduced to a brand-new audience.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently working on new music, as well as preparing to perform in my first showcase as a solo artist.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm pretty new to the platform, but I'm looking forward to networking with everyone so I can recommend folks to my clients.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I have to say digital because it's all that I know. I'm looking forward to becoming acquainted with analog though.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to give every project my all and communicate if I'm ever unable to deliver (hopefully that will never be the case lol)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like having the freedom to do what I love and make a living doing it. I also really enjoy delivering something to clients that they're happy with. I tend to get in my head A LOT about whether I'm doing a good job, so it takes me over the moon when the client is happy!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They ask me to do free labor LOL. Of course, I tell them that I don't do that. Or they ask me/assume that I've never sung pop or house music. I always respond by letting them know that I'm no stranger to most genres of music.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think the biggest misconception people have about what I do is that I can't make a decent living from it. I'm a dreamer and I may not be where I want to be YET, but I'm the happiest when making music and sharing my gift with others, so I learned to have faith that the universe will always take care of me because I'm sharing my soul with those who are as passionate about music as I am.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always like to ask for as much detail as possible. I like to pose questions about the project's scope & structure. I ask questions about the style and performance expectations of any project, technical details, terms/boundaries, and pricing.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The best advice I can give is to prioritize clear communication and respect the creative process. The more details you can provide upfront-- the smoother the collaboration will be. Another thing I'd say is to listen to my past work to make sure my style aligns with what you're looking for. Lastly, remember that music is a collaborative process-- when both sides are aligned, the final product will always be stronger.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My MacBook, my mic, my interface, my headphones, and my MacBook charger (hoping there'll be an outlet on the island lol).
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've always wanted to be a musician ever since I was a little girl. I've been singing my whole life. I started writing music 10 years ago, started learning how to produce 6 years ago and I made my official debut a year ago.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as a genre-blending fusion of nostalgic R&B, alternative soul, and cinematic storytelling-- equal parts raw, rebellious, and deeply personal.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would LOVE to work with Drake someday. His music has been the soundtrack to my life since I was a kid and he's also a huge inspiration. It'd be an honor to be able to tell him how much his art means to me.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: As a self-taught musician, the best tip or advice I can give is that DONE is better than PERFECT. I think this helps me not stay stuck on anything for too long when creating.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on a lot of R&B tracks or get contacted to sing hooks on a lot of Rap tracks. I'd love to branch out and work on different genres of music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I believe that my professionalism, adaptability, and emotional intuition in vocal performances are my strongest skills.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'm able to capture the essence of any song I work on and deliver it with the right tone, energy, and emotion-- even when working across different genres.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I typically like to sit with the details, demos/references, and lyrics for some time to make sure that I know what feelings to convey through my singing. Then I'd like to move on to memorizing lyrics (If I'm working with prewritten material). Eventually, the recording process begins and I allow myself to be moved by the spirit of whatever I'm working on.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a pretty simple home setup. It's just me, my MacBook, AT4040 Condenser mic, my Kaotica Eyeball Audio-Technica headphones, and my Focusrite Scarlett Solo. It's always getting the job done.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Artists who put a lot of emotion and soul into their art are extremely inspiring to me. Mary J. Blige, Snoh Aalegra, and various artists from the 70's. I also love artists like Aaliyah, who bring such a laid-back vibe to their art.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do a lot of R&B tracks and hooks for artists. Mainly singing prewritten material.
