HIGH-FIDELITY ONLINE MASTERING

Max Cordero on SoundBetter

Professional audio mastering for any music genre, optimized for digital platforms.

Hi! I'm Max, an expert in high-fidelity audio mastering and remastering. My focus is strictly musical. I will enhance the sound of your songs, whether organic or AI-generated, with a warm, balanced, and powerful sound.

My obsession with sound quality leads me to treat each track with a critical ear, to bring out its full musical potential. My workflow is handcrafted and customized, with plugins from Acustica Audio and Fab Filter to make the process musical and transparent.

I’ve completed projects on platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, and AirGigs, and now bring the same technical precision and musical sensitivity to SoundBetter. For me, mastering is not just a final step—it's a creative process that blends science and emotion.

Interview with Max Cordero

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I worked on private projects, nothing streaming-related. I don't boast about numbers or fame; my focus is sound art, thank you.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm still experimenting in the world of audio. I'm always looking for ways to improve "commercial" songs privately. I also work as a freelancer on Fiverr/Upwork and Airgigs. This platform might be new to me, but I know I'll give my best in every musical project.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I recommend it to those who love sound art. I respect those who have millions of plays, but for me, what's most valuable is that they prioritize sound art above all else.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: The ideal world would be a hybrid. I'm in the digital world with analog emulation. Regardless of whether my answer is refuted, I've managed "only" with Acustica Audio plugins to achieve a very beautiful, high-end sound.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Beyond money, I always offer a sample of the quality of my work, thus guaranteeing what you can get from my work; Passion for art.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The musical quality. That deep bass, warmth in the mids, and silky highs is what I always look for in every song.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Clients often ask about "audio editing." I usually reply that as long as there's no distortion, we can get good results.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I feel that sometimes I can go overboard with the high notes in the song, so I'm always in constant communication with the clients.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: First, what volume do you want your production to be? Second, what sound style are you aiming for with your song (I'm referring to references)? Third, what is the maximum delivery time?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: To my wonderful clients, I would ask that they enjoy their art, that they take pride in rehearsing and playing their instruments well. If they were mixing engineers, I would ask them to create a good balance of instruments in the mix.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Since my specialty is mastering, the essentials are my MacBook Pro, an audio interface, and headphones. If possible, my monitors.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Without bragging, honestly, more than a decade.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Regarding my mastering style, I'm always experimenting, especially with Acustica Audio plugins. I push each plugin to its limits to explore its capabilities and sound coloration; it's fascinating.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I don't have one in particular; I believe every artist deserves respect and admiration for their art.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: I believe the best thing an artist can do is practice and rehearse according to their calling; that's fundamental. I believe art is more important than equipment.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: My enthusiasm began at a young age; my passion for "remastering" commercial songs from the '80s and '90s has lasted for over a decade. Using reference materials, I can replicate "mastering" techniques for any musical genre.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strength in audio is the ability to achieve high-fidelity sound. Specifically, I'm an expert in stereo audio mastering.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I believe that my obsession with audio quality brings warmth, balance, and transparency to the audio, all in a musical way.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: My process consists of polishing and maximizing the quality of the audio through analog emulation, to achieve a musical balance.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My workflow is basically in-house, with high-end emulation using Acustica Audio plugins.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Bob Katz, Ruslan Slatin.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I specialize in mastering high-quality audio or songs.
