Iker on SoundBetter

I help artists turn concepts, moods, and ideas into tracks that hit hard and feel real. Specializing in fast, intentional workflow with a focus on clarity, emotion, and vibe. I have work, trap, jersey, reggaeton, afrobeat, electronic, house, experimental, synthpop, drumnbass, drill.

I’m a music producer and mixing engineer graduated from Tecnológico de Monterrey, rooted in the urban universe—reggaetón, trap, R&B, lo-fi, and everything in between. What I do goes beyond cleaning vocals or adjusting levels—I build a mood, a vibe, a world. I translate feelings, colors, and visuals into sound. If you give me a word, an image, or a reference—I’ll give you a song that feels like that.

My workflow is fast but intentional. I produce and mix in FL Studio and Logic, using a wide range of plugins—from detailed tools like Ozone and FabFilter to creative processors like Portal or Soundtoys. I love sculpting vocal spaces, textures, and atmospheres that make a song breathe and hit at the same time. Every element has a role; I don’t do filler.

My sound is bold, modern, and emotionally sharp—think clarity with character. I don’t just polish—I interpret. I’m here to help shape your identity as an artist and make sure the track connects with who you are.

I’m the right fit for independent artists who want professional-quality mixes, creative input, and someone who listens before tweaking. I bring vision, ears, and heart to the table. Let’s make something real.

Interview with Iker

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My proudest project so far is my upcoming album Fotografías. I created everything from scratch—beats, concepts, sound design, lyrics. Each track started with a photo and a feeling. I took abstract emotions and turned them into full songs. It’s not just music—it’s memory, heartbreak, and transformation turned into sound.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m developing my debut album, a project called Fotografías. Each song is built around a personal moment or visual memory. It blends genres like reggaetón, lo-fi, house, and trap with emotional storytelling and cinematic textures. It’s a very personal piece of work.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: At the moment I’m still exploring the platform and getting to know other creators. I’ll definitely be open to recommending collaborators as I connect with the right ones.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital for workflow, analog for flavor. I love the precision and speed of digital tools, but nothing beats the warmth and soul analog gear brings. At the studio I use both when possible—each has its own magic.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: The creative freedom. Being able to turn a loose idea into a finished track, to hear something that didn’t exist before—that’s magic to me. It’s even more powerful when the artist listens and says: “That’s exactly what I imagined.”

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: “Can you make it sound like [insert artist]?” My answer: Yes—but better, let’s make it sound like you. I believe in capturing your essence, not copying someone else. Inspiration is fine, but identity is everything.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: That I just “make beats.” What I really do is build emotional environments. I create from concepts—sometimes a single word, a picture, or even a vibe. It’s not about slapping sounds together, it’s about storytelling with music.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That I just “make beats.” What I really do is build emotional environments. I create from concepts—sometimes a single word, a picture, or even a vibe. It’s not about slapping sounds together, it’s about storytelling with music.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask things like: What’s the mood? What color is the song? Is it day or night? I want to know what they imagine when they hear the beat in their head. That gives me the real vision behind the track, and from there I translate it into sound.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Look for someone who listens before producing. If you work with me, you’re not just hiring a beatmaker—you’re hiring someone who wants to understand the essence of your idea and make it sound exactly how it feels in your head. I believe music starts before the first note—it starts with emotion.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Audio interface Microphone Closed-back headphones MIDI controller A mobile vocal booth

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been producing and writing for about four years. I started on my own, learning from tutorials, then took formal courses and worked on real projects for brands and organizations. I’m currently studying Business at Tec de Monterrey while developing my debut album, which is a personal and emotional journey.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Cinematic urbano. I mix textures and emotional weight with street energy. I’m not trying to sound like others; I’m just honest with what I feel and what I’ve lived. My sound lives between late-night nostalgia and confident elevation.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with any artist that values storytelling and isn't afraid to blend aesthetics with raw emotion. Artists like Rauw Alejandro, Milo J, or even Rosalía—they all bring something personal to the game.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: When you’re stuck, try producing with a visual in mind—like a color palette, a landscape, or even a photo from your phone. Your ears will start following your eyes, and suddenly you’re not making "just a beat" anymore, you’re building a world.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Mostly urban styles. I've worked on reggaetón, trap, house, lo-fi, drill, synth-pop, and experimental blends. My debut album explores all of those genres, each one with its own identity. I like pushing limits and fusing styles without losing the core emotion.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My ability to translate abstract ideas into music. Whether you give me a word, a vibe, or an image—I can build a world around it. I don’t just make beats, I create atmospheres.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring a point of view. It’s not about "adding my touch," it’s about fully understanding the song’s DNA and turning it into something real. I’m good at pulling an idea out of thin air—like turning a single photo, a word, or even a color into a full musical identity.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: It starts with listening. I pay attention to how clients talk about their vision—what they feel, what they imagine, what emotion they want to capture. Then I turn that into a sonic story, layer by layer. I often begin with chords or texture and build the beat around the feeling. Vocals come later if needed, and I treat them like another instrument.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work from both my personal setup and the professional IC24 studio at Tecnológico de Monterrey. There, I have access to analog gear like the C|24 console, Furman power systems, quality preamps, and more. My main DAWs are Logic Pro and FL Studio. Whether it’s analog warmth or clean digital workflow, I find the right combo for each track.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Everyone in the urban scene, from Latin giants like Tainy and Bizarrap to U.S. legends like Metro Boomin and Kanye West. I’m also inspired by underground producers who experiment with sounds, mixing genres like house with reggaetón or lo-fi with trap. The whole urbano ecosystem is my creative fuel.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I specialize in concept-driven production. I usually ask my clients to describe their song idea using colors, moods, or images—green, late night, blurry, loud silence, whatever. That’s where I get the vibe and start building the instrumental from there. I'm not just following a genre, I'm translating their vision into sound.
