I make groovy bass lines for your tracks!

Hello! I am a professional musician born in 1992 from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Graduated from Escuela de Música Juan Pedro Esnaola in 2015. Title: "National Music Teacher" (specialization in classical guitar)

My main instrument is the electric bass, but I play both classical and electric guitar, drums and percussion.

I play in several independent and self-managed projects and I have experience in live performances, recordings, composition, beatmaking and more.

About music styles it's hard for me to find something I don't like to play! haha I would love to work with you.

P.S.: In the audio example the volume of the original track was lowered so that the bass performance stands out on purpose!

Contact me through the green button above and let's get to work.

Interview with Tomás De Souza

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I started with music at 12 years old, I did secondary school in parallel to the music conservatory and to this day (I'm 32, so it's been 20 years!) I continue studying, playing and learning.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Generally music related to jazz, funk, soul and derivatives but also rock, pop, r&b... oh and as a latino I also have some latin american rhythms in my repertoire!

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: I think a valuable skill I have is adapting to different styles of music, rhythms and dynamics.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: The first thing I do is listen to the entire track I'm going to work on several times (taking breaks to avoid saturating the ears obviously). Often, when listening, ideas emerge in my head, and then I replicate them on the instrument to see how they work. But I spend so much time with the instrument that it's hard to tell how it works! I often listen to tracks with the instrument already plugged in and improvise based on what I hear and then filter from there what I think might work for the song.
