Interview with Simon

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of started as a bit of a wild bet — I remixed a track without having the rights, purely driven by inspiration. I shared it privately, and to my surprise, the original singer loved it. Instead of shutting it down, he gave me the official license to release it. From there, the project took on a life of its own. I handled everything: production, mix, master, and all the creative decisions — from the first kick to the final arrangement. The track went through several stages of refinement and emotion, and it became a deeply rewarding experience, both artistically and technically. It taught me the power of taking risks, trusting my ear, and staying authentic. Seeing that track go from an idea in my studio to an official release out in the world was both humbling and glorifying.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Digital, easy to bring with me on the spots i like to be to craft ideas

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: Give the best of me

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Honestly? That magical moment when a client hears the first draft and goes, “Bro… what the hell did you just do?!” 😄 I love turning a rough idea — a voice note, a vibe, a vague reference — into a track that gives goosebumps or makes people want to dance with their eyes closed. It’s addictive. And knowing that something I created might end up shaking a dancefloor on the other side of the world? That never gets old.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: The biggest misconception is that ghost production is fast and generic — just drag-and-drop loops and done. In reality, I create every track from scratch, carefully designing sounds, crafting grooves, and shaping the arrangement to match the client’s vision and stand out from the crowd. Another misconception is that ghost production lacks creativity or soul. But actually, it’s the opposite: my role is to channel someone else’s artistic identity, while bringing fresh ideas, professional sound, and emotional depth. It’s highly collaborative, and it takes both intuition and skill to do it right.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: To deliver the best possible track, I always start by asking a few key questions: 1. What’s your vision or goal for this track? (Label release, DJ tool, personal project, etc.) 2. Do you have references or inspirations? (Artists, songs, moods…) 3. Do you already have vocals or instruments you want to include? 4. How involved do you want to be in the process? (Hands-on with feedback, or fully delegated?) These questions help me understand not just the technical needs, but also the emotional and artistic direction — so I can craft a track that truly fits your identity.

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Be clear on the vibe and emotion you want to convey — even if you’re not sure about the technical terms. Share references, describe the mood, or tell me the story you want the track to tell. The more I understand your vision, the better I can bring it to life. Also, don’t be afraid to collaborate. I’m here not just to deliver a track, but to help you craft something original, impactful, and true to your identity. Trust the process, stay open to creative ideas, and together we can build something that goes beyond your expectations.

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: Macbook Pro, wife, son, speakers and entrecotes

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: I’ve been producing music for over 7 years, starting out as a DJ and gradually shifting into full-time production. At first, I was crafting tracks for my own sets, but as my sound evolved and gained support from bigger names like Adriatique, Rivo, and Massuma, I started receiving requests from other artists and labels — which naturally led me into ghost production and custom work. Over time, I honed my skills in Deep House, Afro House, and Melodic House, focusing on creating original, label-ready music with a strong emotional and rhythmic identity. Today, I work with artists around the world to help them develop their sound, build impactful releases, and get noticed by the DJs and labels they admire.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: My style is a blend of Deep House and Afro House, with a strong focus on groove, emotion, and atmosphere. I love building warm, hypnotic rhythms layered with organic textures, ethnic touches, and subtle melodic elements that tell a story. Whether it’s a driving club track or a more introspective vibe, my productions aim to feel both timeless and immersive — music you can dance to, but also feel. Think of a sound somewhere between Keinemusik, Black Coffee, and Rivo, but always tailored to the artist I work with.

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: I’d love to work with Rivo. His sound design is next level — his hypnotic, offbeat, and dreamy synths create a unique atmosphere that’s both emotional and danceable. I really admire his ability to balance minimalism with depth, leaving space for each element to breathe while still keeping the groove alive. Collaborating with him would be a chance to blend my groove-driven Afro and Deep House approach with his cinematic, melodic textures — and create something truly timeless.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: 1 bar loop from 2 bar loop 2 bar loop from 4 bar loop 4 to 8....

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: I mainly work on Deep House and Afro House — genres where rhythm, atmosphere, and emotion meet. These styles allow me to create warm, hypnotic grooves with soulful or ethnic influences, tailored for both underground clubs and festival stages. I occasionally explore Melodic House when the project calls for deeper harmonies or a more cinematic feel, but my core sound always stays rooted in groove and authenticity. If you’re looking for music that connects emotionally while hitting hard on the dancefloor, that’s exactly what I deliver.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: My strongest skill is my ability to translate an abstract idea or emotion into a fully produced, original track that sounds both unique and ready for release. Whether it starts with a vocal, a vibe, or just a reference track, I can quickly grasp the direction and build a groove, arrangement, and sound design that align perfectly with the artist’s vision. I also have a strong ear for mixing and dynamics, which ensures that my productions hit hard while staying clean and musical — ready for DJs, labels, and streaming platforms.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: I bring emotion, groove, and originality to every song I work on. My goal is always to create something that moves people — whether it’s on the dancefloor or in their headphones. I focus on creating a signature identity for the track: a strong groove, powerful drops, subtle tension, and unique textures that elevate the listening experience. I pay close attention to arrangement, sound design, and dynamics to make sure every moment feels intentional and impactful. Whether I’m producing from scratch or enhancing an existing idea, I bring a fresh ear, professional sound, and a deep respect for the artist’s vision — while always pushing for that extra magic that makes the difference between a good track and a great one.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: My process always starts with connection and understanding. I usually like to schedule a quick Zoom call or exchange messages to really understand the artist’s vision — not just what they want to hear, but what they want to feel and make others feel through the track. Once I’ve grasped the direction, I begin crafting the core idea — often starting with groove, harmony, or an atmospheric hook — depending on the genre and emotion we’re aiming for. I love bringing fresh and unexpected ideas to the table: unique sound design, hypnotic loops, or an emotional twist that makes the track stand out. Throughout the process, I keep the client involved with regular updates and previews. I’m flexible and take the time to refine the production until it feels just right — not only technically polished, but also emotionally powerful and artistically original.

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: My studio is designed for high-end production, mixing, and mastering in the Afro House, Deep House, and Melodic House space. I work primarily in Ableton Live and Logic Pro, combining the best of digital precision and analog warmth. I use an Apollo Twin X interface for pristine audio conversion, and monitor on Adam Audio speakers for accurate mixing. My main tools include premium plugins from Waves, FabFilter, Brainworx, Soundtoys, and T-RackS, along with modern synths like Serum, Diva, and Analog Lab V. I also use Standard Clip, Oeksound Soothe2, and Waves SSL for clean, powerful masters, and I mix with pro-grade headphones (like Beyerdynamic DT 770) to fine-tune every detail. Everything is optimized to deliver label-quality productions, from demo to final master.

  35. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  36. A: I’m deeply inspired by artists and producers who blend emotion, groove, and innovation. Names like Black Coffee, Adriatique, Francis Mercier, and the entire Keinemusik crew have shaped my sound and approach to production. I admire how they create music that’s not only technically outstanding but also tells a story — tracks that work on the dancefloor and still carry a soul. I also draw inspiration from sound engineers and mix artists who bring warmth and clarity to electronic music, like Luca Pretolesi and Charles Dorman. Their ability to balance artistic identity with sonic excellence pushes me to keep evolving with every project.

  37. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  38. A: I specialize in full-track ghost production for artists and DJs in the Deep House, Afro House, and Melodic House genres. The most common work I do is crafting 100% original, high-quality tracks tailored to my clients’ vision — from scratch. Whether they come with a vocal, a rough idea, or just a vibe, I transform it into a club-ready, emotional, and impactful song. I deliver fully mixed and mastered tracks, along with stems, MIDI, and presets, ready for label submission or release. Many of my clients are DJs looking for signature tracks to stand out in their sets or vocalists seeking a powerful instrumental to build their next release on. My productions have been supported by top-tier artists like Adriatique, Rivo, and Massuma — and I help my clients reach that level of sound.
