Hey! My name is Eye Luk. I'm a recording artist and self-taught mixing & mastering engineer. I've been writing and making music since the early age of ten, music has always been my number one driving passion. In 2018, I founded Heavens Heathens, which is a collective of artists with similar pasts, passions, and purpose. And along the journey, I've had the honor of working with some of the legends that I grew up listening to, such as Kinetic-9 & Cappadonna (Wu-Tang) to more current underground legends, such as Loc Saint, Truthseekah, GrewSum, Playboy The Beast, etc.
If you entrust me with your project, rest assured that making it sound its absolute best is my top priority. I've always had the ear for music, combine that with a tidbit of OCD, and I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to getting that sound "just right." Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My equipment isn't the fanciest, but it's everything that I need to do what I do, and it's constantly growing or getting upgraded. I grew up without much money, so I learned to work with what I had available, and how to use it to it's fullest potential. I believe it's not what you've got that sets you apart, but rather knowing how to use what you've got, that does that for you.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A lot..haha. Probably too many to name. I've learned from all the people that I've worked with, always trying to soak up all that I could. So without turning this into a bunch of personal shout-outs, I'll list a few more well-known names. Upchurch, JellyRoll, Struggle Jennings, Loc Saint, Dub3030, to name a few.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Generally, verse features and / or mixing, mastering, and meta-data encoding their songs. I do some editing when needed. I've even done some backing vocals or adlibs, upon request, to enhance a track just to help it pop more. I want the finished product to be top-notch. And for the Ethereal Elephant Studios name stamped on it, to truly mean something.
