Interview with SIVH (only.)
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: “Let Me In” — I wrote, performed, and produced the entire track. It’s a vulnerable piece that reflects my style and growth as a storyteller and sonic architect.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My upcoming singles and client projects blending R&B, Afrobeat, and cinematic pop. I’m always experimenting with new textures and tones.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m just building my network on here, but I’m open to collaborating and recommending great talent I trust.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for flexibility. I love analog texture, but digital tools give me the freedom to create from anywhere—especially when life’s unpredictable.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I’ll treat your project like it’s mine—focused on quality, soul, and vibe. I won’t stop until it moves you.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to help people turn thoughts into something they can feel, something they can hear forever. That’s priceless.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: “Can you work with just a voice memo or rough idea?” Absolutely. Some of my best work starts with a whisper of inspiration.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That creativity happens instantly. The best work comes from taking time to connect, revise, and dig deeper.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What’s the emotion or story behind this song? Are there artists you reference? Do you have a deadline or long-term vision?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who listens before they create. Vibe matters—when we connect creatively, the music hits different.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: FL Studio, Rode NT1A mic, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, a MacBook, and my headphones. With that, I could make magic anywhere.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started writing and producing as a teen and sharpened my skills through constant trial, collaboration, and self-learning. I’ve been seriously creating music for over 8 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Cinematic soul meets experimental R&B with a hint of global rhythm. It’s intimate, genre-blending, and mood-heavy.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with Brent Faiyaz or Tems. Both artists embody raw emotion and sonic depth that feel authentic—perfect ground for pushing creative limits.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never underestimate the power of silence or minimalism. A well-placed pause or stripped section can say more than a wall of sound.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: R&B, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, and experimental pop. I love blending genres and adding cinematic or soulful undertones to everything I touch.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Melody creation and vibe curation. I have a sharp ear for what makes a song connect emotionally, and I’m fast at building catchy toplines and immersive worlds.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Emotion, texture, and intention. I treat every song like a story—with layers that hook the ear and lyrics that make people feel something. Whether it’s a raw demo or polished track, I leave my fingerprint on the experience.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start with a conversation or moodboard to understand the artist’s story. From there, I build a vibe—starting with melody, lyric sketches, and production. My goal is to craft a sound that feels real, timeless, and cinematic.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work with FL Studio, BandLab for mobile flexibility, and a curated selection of plugins and vocal chains. Even when I’m limited to essentials, I know how to get professional results—my creativity never stops with my gear.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by innovators like Frank Ocean, Timbaland, Burna Boy, and Tyler, the Creator—artists who blur genres and build worlds with their sound.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I help artists bring their vision to life through full vocal production, writing hooks and verses, and crafting custom instrumentals across genres like R&B, Hip-Hop, and Pop. Whether it’s toplining or full production, I aim to deliver industry-quality emotion.
