Vocal style & strength mirroring Freddie Mercury, George Michael and Steve Perry (Journey). Original work featured in BILLBOARD magazine and The New York Post.
Thanks again for stopping by. I'm new to Soundbetter but not to the industry.
Whether in the booth or on stage, I’ve been behind the mic for decades. I can offer a variety of tones and emotion including Yacht Rock to Hard Rock (AC/DC). Whether a falsetto, grit or clean vocal is what you need, I will provide it and help your project connect with your target market.
If you need a LIVE performer to help showcase your work, I have proudly stood center court at Madison Square Garden singing The National Anthem before a Knicks/Laker game, entertained thousands with a Classic Rock Tribute, and connected with just a handful of patrons at a dive bar, all with the exact same energy, passion and commitment.
Hope to work with you and your team soon.

Interview with John Anthony
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The recording of my album, 'What A Man Can Do' was very rewarding. The collaboration with session vocalists and musicians was inspiring. As a vocalist, I delivered my truth in every lyric, on every note.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently working on a LIVE tribute show featuring Queen and Rock/Pop hits.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don't know anyone personally but browsing the talent here, clients have a lot of great choices.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Either as the end product just needs to be an honest expression of the writer and/or musician.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Although a business, whether I'm in the booth or on a stage, I feel free.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you...? 'Yes". Although, I can mimic Neil Diamond, the low registers are a little challenging :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: A.I. can easily replace all of us.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Is there a specific artist you are thinking of? How will the song be used? When do you need the finished track by?
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Although I co-produced my own album (featured in BILLBOARD), music production is not my focus. Melody and lyrics is where I'll fine-tune the message.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It's all about the song. I'd like to know more about the writer's perspective as it will influence my choices. I will record a verse or chorus and upload for feedback to ensure I'm going in the right direction. After taking direction, I'll finish recording, cleanup the vocal (noise, breaths, clicks, etc) and submit.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Professional attitude, excellent communication, fast turnaround.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Even a human can sound mechanical. The vocal performance has to be felt as much as heard.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A Bluetooth speaker, library of my favorite music and a solar charger :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Singing/Performing since college, including original work, tribute/show bands and session work, spanning 30+ years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Powerful, emotional.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Brian May, Neal Schon, Steve Lukather for their impeccable ability to compliment a melody with either a riff or solo.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Soft Rock, Pop
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: High range with vibrato, believability.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Power, Passion, Soul
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: DAW - PreSonus Studio One, Adobe Audition Microphone - RODE NT1 5th Generation Preamp - PreSonus STUDIO 24c Vocal Booth
