The Process:
- First we will start by discussing all the details of your project and figure out how to really bring your vision life.
- Once the project has been funded, I will ask you to send over any files, instrumentals, references or lyrics I
may need to get started on your project.
- As soon as I am finished I will send over a rough mix and dry unprocessed vocals files.

Interview with LiL
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Putting on live show with Lala Hathaway. If was a concert with just her and I and it was fantastic being on the bill with her!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The artist I get a chance to work with.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Do you write or produce tracks. No, I don't. That would require more of an investment and time. If you don't already have a track, spend some time listen to some you like then buy it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have a great understanding of what you want and allow your talent to improvise and make suggestions. If you are too strict, rigid and not flexible in your creative endeavors then working with someone will make it hard and you probably won't get the maximum energy and enthusiasm you can get on your project.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been singing all my life. Started in church. Then I decided to try out for American Idol and made it to the final rounds. Since then I have been consistently doing live performances.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure you have your tracks and scratch vocal ready to go.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Singing
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Too many to list but mostly influenced by sounds of Staxs and Motown. Soulful and funky vocals.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I perform as a vocalist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I'll do a rough cut of the song with the ideas I have in mind from the instruction received from the client. Then I'll send it back to the client to make sure I'm going in the right direction and if not, I can get their feedback to work it into the next rough cut of the song. Once the client is satisfied with the direction of the song. I'll then go into the studio and record it with all the passion and energy I have to make sure to deliver a stellar performance!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on my EP and Album.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm new to SoundBetter so no, I don't know anyone to recommend to my clients.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. No reason why, other than what the engineer chooses.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: When someone suggest the job will be easy and quick. It is never quick. It takes at least 6 hours from beginning to end to deliver the final project.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I book time in professional studios to work on the projects with grammy award winning or nominated producers and/or engineers. So the setup can be quite extensive as I only work with industry professionals that have credits on grammy award winning or nominated artist. So far (finger-crossed) all of them have a grammy award winning project under their belt.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is the BPM of the track? Can you provide a scratch vocal for the track? Can you send over an instrumental for the track? Can you send the lyrics for the song?

A: Funk Soul.

A: Usually Funk, Soul & R&B.
