Interview with E Way Beatz
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m especially proud of my work on The Burning Canvas Pt. IV: Ashes by Brayy 4K because it allowed me to fully bring out the emotion and energy of his music. My role was as both producer and engineer—I crafted beats that matched the album’s vibe and handled the mixing and mastering to ensure every track sounded clear, powerful, and polished. Being part of a project that blends raw storytelling with professional sound quality really showcases what I bring to the table as a producer and engineer.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: E Way Beatz continues to offer mixing and mastering services, ensuring that each project he works on achieves a polished, professional sound. His commitment to quality and collaboration makes him a valuable asset to artists looking to elevate their music.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I prefer digital for most of my work because it offers unmatched flexibility, speed, and convenience. Digital tools let me easily edit, experiment, and fix things without starting over, which is crucial in today’s fast-paced music world. Plus, with high-quality plugins and interfaces, I can achieve clean, professional sound that rivals analog gear. That said, I respect analog gear for its warm, organic character—sometimes I’ll incorporate analog elements or use hybrid setups to get the best of both worlds depending on the vibe I’m going for. But overall, digital workflow keeps me efficient and versatile.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to my clients is simple: to bring your vision to life with passion, professionalism, and precision. I commit to delivering high-quality production and engineering tailored to your unique sound, maintaining clear communication every step of the way, and making sure you’re 100% satisfied with the final result. Your music deserves nothing less than my best.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I’d describe my style as a blend of smooth melodies, hard-hitting drums, and emotional depth. I focus on creating beats and mixes that feel polished but still keep that raw energy. Whether it’s a vibe-heavy trap track or a soulful R&B tune, I aim to bring out the artist’s true voice and make the music connect with people.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with artists like Future or Ken Carson because they bring deep storytelling and real emotion to their music. Collaborating with artists who value meaningful lyrics and strong vibes would push me creatively and let me help craft powerful, timeless tracks that connect with listeners on a deeper level.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always start your mix by balancing the drums and vocals first. They’re the core elements that drive energy and carry the message. Once those sit right in the mix, everything else becomes easier to place and blend around them. This keeps your track clear, punchy, and focused from the start.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on hip-hop, trap, and R&B music. Those genres really let me blend hard-hitting beats with smooth melodies and emotional vibes. I love helping artists create tracks that are both catchy and meaningful, whether it’s an energetic banger or a heartfelt slow jam.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is my ability to blend creativity with technical precision. I don’t just make beats or mix tracks—I craft a complete sound that brings out the emotion and vision of the artist. Whether it’s producing a vibe, capturing the perfect vocal take, or delivering a clean, polished mix, I focus on making every element work together seamlessly.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: What I bring to a song is a blend of creativity, technical skill, and passion. I craft beats that fit the artist’s unique style and vibe, making sure every sound supports their message. I bring clean, professional mixing and mastering that make the track shine on any platform. Beyond that, I bring energy and focus to every session, helping artists bring out their best performance and turning ideas into polished, ready-to-release music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When I start working with an artist, I first talk with them to get a clear idea of their vision and style. Then, I create custom beats that fit their vibe or offer some options to choose from. During recording sessions, I guide them to deliver their best performance in a relaxed environment. After tracking, I clean up the vocals, tune where needed, and comp the best takes. Next, I mix the track—balancing every element to make sure it sounds clear and powerful. Then I master it, so it’s ready for streaming, radio, or any platform. I always offer revisions to make sure the artist is 100% happy before delivering the final files. Communication is key, and I make sure we’re on the same page throughout the whole process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run my creative sessions out of a focused, compact space known as the 1 Star Bedroom Studio — a humble setup built for real results. My studio is equipped with: DAW: FL Studio for beat-making, tracking, and mixing Microphone: Studio-grade condenser mic for clear, crisp vocals Monitors/Headphones: High-quality reference monitors and headphones for accurate mixing Audio Interface: Clean, low-latency interface to capture every detail Plugins: Industry-standard VSTs like Waves, Auto-Tune, FabFilter, and more Creative Vibe: Acoustic-treated room for better sound and a relaxed, artist-first environment Though it’s a bedroom setup, I deliver professional-grade sound, proving that it’s not about the gear—it’s about the ear.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I draw inspiration from a range of musicians and producers who combine emotional depth with high-level production quality. Some of his key influences likely include: Metro Boomin – for cinematic trap production and clean, hard-hitting mixes. Kanye West – for creative sampling, bold sound choices, and genre-blending. Timbaland – for unique rhythms, bounce, and innovative vocal textures. No I.D. – for soulful, minimal production that lets artists shine. Mike Dean – for mastering-level polish and atmospheric sound design. Dr. Dre – for timeless mixing and studio discipline. I also finds motivation in emerging independent producers and local talent, staying grounded in community sounds while aiming for industry-level impact.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I do for my clients includes producing custom beats, recording vocal sessions, and mixing and mastering tracks to professional, release-ready quality. I help artists shape their sound from start to finish—often building a track from scratch, coaching vocal delivery, and fine-tuning every element until it’s ready for streaming platforms.
