Jedeye Moree on SoundBetter

I am able to mold any concept/topic that is presented to me. I am able to do that because it's very easy for me to put my mind frame in anyone's situation. I can vision things from any perspective and can easily express the message that is trying to be conveyed. I have been interviewed by Voyage ATL multiple times concerning my music.

My name is Jemoree Garrett, and I am put on Earth to translate messages through music. It's easy for me to help others express what they are feeling/thinking through these vibrations as well, and I will make sure audiences understand what I and others are feeling/thinking. I have been creating music since 2017 and I have only grown since my first creation. I have learned how to capture audiences, how to translate feeling into expression, and also how to be a great song creator. I have created an album, an EP, and countless amounts of singles since I have been in the industry. I have collaborated with multiple artists national and international over the years as well. The more I collaborate with artists the more I realize it benefits and helps with development.

Interview with Jedeye Moree

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: A project I worked on was "Something to Remember" by me(Jedeye Moree) and "Break the Walls Down" by Garrett Nichols. I'm grateful for those because "Something to Remember" was my first album and it's telling stories that I had been through/witnessed as well as expressing the importance of it being my first album. I am proud of "Break the Walls Down" because it talks about breaking down barriers that stops the world from being united as one.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment I'm working on a few singles and an album of my own.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: N/A.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I've never experienced being around analog so I can't answer yet.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My work ethic is top tier and I will always give 1000% effort.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: It's never routine, it's always something different and challenging to my creativity.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: The question I'm asked most is what can I add to the project and my answer is completion, or wholeness.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: When I use to tell people I was a rapper they would put me in a box with people that only care about women, money, and jewelry so I started calling myself an artist.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask them what do they feel and what do they want the audience to receive after digesting the project.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be as specific as possible with what they want and the direction they want to go on a project.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: A microphone, an interface, a computer, a kato ball, and a monitor/studio speaker.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Music and I've been doing it about 8 years.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Story telling hip-hop/alternative.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: An artist I would like to work with is Pharrell and that's because I feel like he can hear a person's voice and know exactly what type of sounds they need to make the best product.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: I will say make sure all of the sounds mesh together to make one complete idea instead of having things louder than the other or too quiet, and sometimes the simpler the better.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Hip-Hop/Alternative.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Song-writing.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring personality to a song, color, it's easy for me to paint a picture with words.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: My process depends on my mood or the situation. Sometimes the first thing I like to do is think of a concept, if I already have an instrumental I like I might figure what the instrumental is saying to me. If someone already has an idea I will think about how to translate the idea with clarification to the audience as well as making the sonics dynamic.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a focusrite interface, fl studio program, bluebird SL microphone in a soundproof room.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I'm inspired by artists such as Pharrell, Tame Impala, Twenty One Pilots, The Clipse, Big Krit, Arctic Monkeys, and Anderson Paak.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I do song writing for clients as well as being a featured artist.
