Award-winning guitarist and a producer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist with credits including Ricardo Arjona, Glen Scott, & Eric Bibb. I specialize in warm, roots-based production across folk, blues, country & soul. With a pro studio in France, I deliver vocals, guitars, harmonica, lyrics & full tracks for global clients.
I’m a globally active producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with over a decade of experience in the roots music scene.
I specialize in emotionally driven production with warm, organic tones – ideal for folk, country, blues, soul and americana. My focus is always on making every song feel like the song – not just another track.
I’ve had the honor of working with artists such as Ricardo Arjona (Latin Grammy), Glen Scott (Grammy-nominated), Eric Bibb, Alan Haynes, and Clas Yngström, to name a few.
From my professionally equipped studio in France, I offer vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica, lyrics, full arrangements and complete productions – crafted with story, soul and sonic clarity.
Whether you need heartfelt vocals or lyrics, tasteful guitar parts, roots-style harmonica, or a full track built from scratch – I bring experience, musicality and precision to every project.
I also perform regularly as a live artist, which deeply informs my approach to studio work. Whether I’m recording a whispery ballad or an upbeat roots anthem, I aim to preserve that same energy and connection that defines a strong live performance.

Interview with Edward Nielsen
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of the projects I’m most proud of was working with an older gentleman who had never made music before. He had written lyrics as a tribute to his wife of 50 years — a love letter he had dreamed of turning into a song for decades. He didn’t have any musical training, but what he did have was genuine emotion and a clear vision of what he wanted to say. My role was to help bring that vision to life. I composed the music, produced and mixed the song and guided him through the vocal recording. In the end, we created something honest, heartfelt, and timeless. He played the song for his wife on their anniversary and it moved them both to tears. That moment reminded me why I do this.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m currently working with a well-established country artist based in the US, helping produce one of the songs for her upcoming album. It’s a heartfelt track with storytelling at its core – exactly the kind of music I love being part of.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet – I’m new to this platform. But I’m looking forward to discovering other great talents here and building creative collaborations.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog for texture and soul, digital for flexibility and speed. I love blending the two – warmth from real instruments and analog gear, with the precision and creative freedom of modern plugins and DAWs.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to listen deeply – not just to your voice or references, but to what you feel. I’ll respect your vision, bring my experience and instincts to the table, and never stop until we’ve nailed it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: When a client hears the final version and says: “That’s exactly what I had in my head!” There’s magic in helping someone feel understood through sound.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you make it sound like this or that? Yes – I can match the vibe, the mood, and even the sonic palette. But I’ll also help you find your unique fingerprint. My goal is not imitation – it’s translation of your vision into something authentic
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I just “add some effects and press export”. In reality, every sound choice, instrument layer, and vocal take is about storytelling and emotion. Production is not decoration – it’s architecture.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: • What story are you trying to tell? • Do you have reference tracks or artists you admire? • What’s the most important feeling you want your audience to walk away with? • Are there any specific sounds or instruments you want to include?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know what you want emotionally, not just technically. You don’t need to speak in “studio terms” – I’m here to translate your vision into music. Just bring your passion and I’ll help shape the rest.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My acoustic guitar, a good condenser mic, a harmonica, a solar-charged laptop with Logic Pro, and my old-school field recorder. Can’t survive without capturing moments and melodies.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been writing songs, producing, and recording since I was a teenager. Over the years, I’ve worked across genres, collaborated internationally, and built a strong foundation in both analog and digital workflows. Music has always been the core – whether it’s storytelling through lyrics or crafting the right sonic atmosphere.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Warm, intimate and organic – with a touch of grit. I aim for timelessness over trends. Whether it’s a harmonica line or a vocal harmony, I focus on tone, space and honesty.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Someone like Jonny Lang or Chris Stapleton – artists who combine raw honesty, soulful vocals, and timeless songwriting. I love working with that kind of depth.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more – especially when it comes to emotional impact. Don’t overproduce a song that’s meant to breathe. Let the voice, the story, and a few well-played instruments do the talking.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mostly work in singer-songwriter, Americana, country, folk, blues, and rootsy acoustic pop. Organic, heartfelt and story-driven music is where I feel most at home.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Translating emotion into sound. Whether it’s a lyric, a vocal take, or a subtle guitar line, I focus on capturing feel – not just perfection. I help artists shape the song they hear in their head and make it real.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Soul, storytelling, and a musician’s heart. I bring a one-stop creative approach: lyrics, melody, live instruments, vocals and production – all aligned to make your song honest, memorable and alive.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First, I listen closely to your vision and reference tracks. Then I build a rough demo to lock in the vibe. Once we align, I record live instruments and vocals, tweak the arrangement, and mix with your feedback in mind. You’ll get clear updates at every stage.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is a cozy but powerful setup, centered around Logic Pro with a Universal Audio interface, high-end condenser mics, and a collection of guitars, harmonicas and analog-inspired plugins. I record everything live and mix with care, ensuring organic and pro-level results.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by storytellers and raw emotion — artists like Chris Stapleton, John Mayer, and Ray LaMontagne, as well as producers like Rick Rubin and T Bone Burnett who know how to capture authenticity in every take.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my clients already hear the song in their head — they just need someone to help bring it to life. That’s where I come in. Whether it’s a voice memo, a rough demo, or just a vibe they describe, I help shape it into a finished track. I often write lyrics and music, record real instruments (acoustic/electric guitar, harmonica, vocals), and produce the entire song with care and intention. My job is to listen closely and translate what they feel into sound.
