I'm a mixing engineer specialized in various styles of rock — from alternative and Latin rock to classic rock & roll, shoegaze, and beyond. My work is focused on enhancing the energy and emotional depth of each song, always respecting the artist’s unique identity.
I'm an audio engineer from Chile, offering professional editing, mixing, and mastering services — with a deep passion for rock in all its forms.
I specialize in bringing clarity, punch, and emotion to tracks across genres like alternative rock, Latin rock, rock & roll, shoegaze, and other guitar-driven styles. Whether it's tightening up a performance with careful editing, crafting a balanced and dynamic mix, or delivering a polished master ready for release, I approach every project with attention to detail and full commitment to the artist's vision.
Most of my experience comes from working with independent artists in the Chilean scene, but I'm now expanding my collaborations worldwide. I speak English, Spanish, and Italian, so communication won't be a barrier — let's focus on making your music sound exactly how you imagine it.
I deliver on time, keep close communication throughout the process, and always prioritize your creative input.

Interview with Luca Biotti Flores
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m proud of the work I did with the band Corriente Continua, who are about to release their music. I was involved as producer, recording engineer, mixing and mastering engineer. I feel we achieved a high-level result that left everyone satisfied, and I even applied some new concepts I learned during the production process — it was a truly rewarding experience.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m currently working in music production with various artists, and I’m always interested in discovering new bands to collaborate with.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don’t know anyone on SoundBetter yet, but I’d love to connect and collaborate with fellow engineers, producers, and artists on the platform.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I usually prefer hybrid systems. My ideal recording setup includes an analog console with amazing tone — like a Rupert Neve — running through high-end A/D converters, with access to both analog and digital processing. This way, I can make the right choices from recording to mastering based on the sound I’m aiming for, not on dogma.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to deliver a sound that both respects and elevates the artist’s work — enhancing its impact without losing its essence.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I enjoy most about my work is connecting with the artist’s vision and being part of that creative journey. It’s incredibly rewarding to reach a final result that sounds beautiful and feels right for the music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: One of the most common questions I get is: “Can you make my song sound like [reference artist]?” My answer: Absolutely — I always work based on reference tracks and the artist’s vision. While I don’t copy, I use references as a creative and technical guide to shape a sound that fits the song while keeping it original.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that some people think I sell beats — but in reality, I provide editing, mixing, and mastering services to help artists bring their existing songs to their full potential.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask about the artist’s creative vision, sonic references, and what they expect from the final result. I also ask about the number of tracks, the format of delivery, and any deadlines. Understanding the intention behind the music is key to making the right technical and artistic choices.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Hire me if you're looking for someone truly committed and involved in your project. I take the time to understand every detail and work hard to achieve the best possible results.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I'd take my audio interface, a MIDI controller, my studio monitors, my computer with Pro Tools, and my guitar. These are the tools I’m most comfortable with — they not only allow me to deliver great results for others, but also let me create my own music, which is something I truly enjoy.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career started early, learning to play instruments and connecting with music from a young age. During my teenage years and early adulthood, I gained hands-on experience through my own bands and musical projects. This journey led me to formal studies in sound engineering and music production, where I developed my technical foundation. Since then, I've worked on various projects and collaborated in recording and production studios, continuously refining my craft.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My working style is honest, respectful, and straightforward — I believe in clear communication and mutual trust throughout the creative process.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I don’t have a dream artist to work with — I’m most inspired by emerging musicians who bring fresh ideas and sounds. Discovering new voices is what keeps my work exciting.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One production tip I always share is to invest time in dedicated pre-production. Making solid demos and preparing every detail — both artist and producer — lays a strong foundation for all decisions, from recording to mastering.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mostly work on rock music and its many subgenres, bringing energy and character to each project.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is translating the artist’s creative ideas into technical decisions that shape the mix — bridging emotion and sound with precision and intent.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I deliver professional post-production that stays true to the artist’s reference tracks and vision, always respecting the integrity and character of the original work.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical workflow starts with clear communication with the artist — whether through an in-person meeting, video call, email, or WhatsApp — to fully understand the project, expectations, and sonic references. Once aligned, I begin working in the DAW, keeping the artist involved through up to 3 revisions to maintain clarity and workflow efficiency. After revisions are complete, the final delivery is sent.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup includes a dedicated workstation with Yamaha monitors, Sennheiser headphones, and Pro Tools, using a wide range of plugins from brands like Universal Audio and FabFilter. I also have access to studios equipped with Neumann and Focal monitors, as well as other high-end gear that supports and enhances my workflow.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by artists like Donald Fagen, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, B.B. King, Oasis, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, My Bloody Valentine, and many more across the musical spectrum.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My common tasks include editing, mixing, and mastering songs across various rock styles.
