I am a musician, singer and composer that can play in all styles, arrange/compose, and write catchy jingles for products.
Albert Ahlf is a jazz pianist, vocalist, arranger, educator, and jazz historian based in Rockland County, NY. His journey began in high school, earning the jazz piano chair in the NYSSMA All-State Ensemble. He studied jazz at Ithaca College and SUNY Purchase, learning from legends like Jon Faddis, Kenny Washington, and Charles Blenzig. He’s performed at venues such as Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and the Blue Note with the Purchase Jazz Orchestra.
Albert is also a music director at Piermont Reformed Church, where he blends gospel with traditional jazz. He earned his M.A. in Music Education from Hunter College, where he deepened his jazz history and arranging skills. He’s performed across NYC and the Hudson Valley, including Maureen’s Jazz Cellar, Division Street Grill, and cruise tours with Norwegian Cruise Line.
In 2021, he released a solo piano reduction of Duke Ellington’s “Black, Brown & Beige,” which earned praise from Hot House and Jersey Jazz. His swing group, The Ahlfabet Swing Band, performs regularly and features vocalist Kimberly Hawkey. Albert continues to write, teach, and perform swing, jazz, gospel, and blues across the region.
