I’m Jason, a recording producer and mixing engineer based in Portland, Oregon, and I run The Love Palace Recording. I specialize in mixing punk, emo, hardcore, and rock-driven music. My goal is simple: deliver mixes that hit hard, keep their raw energy, and translate seamlessly across streaming platforms, vinyl, and live playback.
To me, mixing is about more than balance — it’s about making songs come alive. I put extra care into building a strong foundation, especially when it comes to drums. Punch, tone, and vibe are everything, and I make sure performances feel locked in and emotionally right, not just technically correct.
I treat every project as a collaboration. Artists bring their songs, and I bring oversight and ideas. Most of the time, nine out of ten ideas won’t stick, but we’re always chasing that one move that unlocks the track and makes it something special. My mixes aim to preserve what’s unique about your sound while giving it the clarity, power, and polish it needs to stand out.
I also offer basic mastering to get tracks release-ready, and I work with trusted mastering engineers for projects that need the highest level of finish. Whether you’ve tracked in a studio or at home, I can take your recordings and help turn them into records you’ll be proud to release.
