Professional Sound Engineer

daki on SoundBetter

🎚️ Professional Sound Engineer & Artist with 10+ years of experience. Specialized in Trap, Pop & Ambient sounds, I’ve mixed & mastered for artists across Europe (incl. features with wasched, Levakbob, & Natalia Blunt). Clean mixes, powerful vocals & industry-ready masters.

I’ve been engineering since I was 7 years old and I’m currently studying Audio Engineering in my 5th semester, on the way to my Bachelor of Science. For 3 years I had the privilege of working with 2x Amadeus Award-winning engineer Krystian Koenig in his studio, learning the craft at a professional level.
With 70+ released songs on DSPs, I mix and master music on a daily basis – my life revolves around perfecting sound. I bring experience from both studio and stage: from recording sessions and vocal tuning to mastering, as well as live festival work as FOH engineer.
I’m open to all genres and always aim to connect deeply with my clients, building long-term partnerships while delivering mixes and masters that translate on every system.

Interview with daki

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of was working on songs for The Blues Standard Series by City Blues Connection, which later charted in Blues and Jazz rankings. I contributed parts of the engineering process, including setup, vocal tuning, and rough mixes. Being part of a project that reached international recognition showed me how important precision and detail are in engineering.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m currently working on a top-secret mixtape project for the German-speaking market – pushing boundaries in sound and vocal production.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I’m new to the platform, but once I connect with great professionals here, I won’t hesitate to give them their flowers and recommend them to my clients.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both have their pros and cons, but I lean more toward digital. The ability to save sessions and recall mixes instantly is a huge advantage, while with analog you need to rebuild settings manually.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is to always give my best, listen carefully, and adapt to each client’s wishes. I aim to deliver a mix that feels true to their vision and ready for release.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I like most is the freedom to be creative – every song is unique, and I get to shape the sound in a way that connects with people while still bringing the artist’s vision to life.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Most clients ask how many revisions are included and how fast I deliver. My answer: usually 2–3 revisions are included, and I deliver within 3–5 days depending on project size.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Many think I only live for music and spend every second in the studio. Yes, I work a lot and music is my passion, but I still keep a balanced life outside of it - that balance makes my work even better.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask about the artist’s vision, preferred references, and the feeling they want the song to create. I also check technical details like tempo, key, file prep, and how many revisions they expect.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be clear about your vision and share reference tracks. The more I understand your goals and sound, the better I can deliver a mix that not only meets but exceeds your expectations.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I’d take my laptop, an audio interface, a good pair of headphones, a reliable microphone, and a power generator – everything I need to record, mix, and keep creating no matter where I am.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started engineering at 7 years old, and since then I’ve built my career step by step. I studied Audio Engineering (B.Sc.), worked 3 years alongside a 2× Amadeus Award-winning engineer, and have credits on 70+ released songs. From studio sessions to FOH live shows, music has been my full-time path for over a decade.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is clean, deep, and punchy while staying transparent. I focus on clarity and balance so every element shines, without losing the natural vibe of the track.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Young Thug because of his versatility. He constantly pushes boundaries with his voice and style, which would be inspiring to shape and highlight through engineering.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Focus on the source. A clean, well-recorded vocal or instrument saves hours in mixing. No plugin can fully replace a great performance captured with care.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I mostly work on Hip-Hop, Trap, Pop and R&B. Still, I’m versatile and open to all genres – from ambient trap to live band recordings – and adapt my workflow to fit the artist’s vision.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is vocal mixing and mastering. I know how to make vocals sit perfectly in the mix – balanced, clear and dynamic – while keeping their natural character and emotion intact.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring clarity, depth, and emotion to a track. My goal is to highlight the artist’s unique voice, balance the mix so every element has space, and deliver a polished sound that connects with listeners.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by organizing and gain staging all stems, then shape the sound with EQ, compression and effects. Vocals get special attention with tuning and dynamics. Once the mix is balanced, I master it for punch, clarity and streaming-ready loudness, while staying true to the artist’s vision.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio is a fully treated room-within-a-room facility designed for precision mixing and recording. Monitoring is based on ATC SCM50s and Yamaha NS-10s, tuned with Trinnov calibration. I work with high-end gear including multiple Neumann U87/TLM103 mics, Metric Halo ULN-8 converters, and a flexible patchbay setup. Outboard highlights include stereo pairs of UAD 1176s and LA-2A Silver Face compressors, Neve 1073 EQs and pres, and a Lexicon 480L reverb. The space also features guitars, synths, amps, and a full drum kit – giving me both analog warmth and digital accuracy to achieve any sound an artist needs.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I’m inspired by engineers like Manny Marroquin and Mike Dean for their precision and creativity, as well as artists in Hip-Hop and Trap who push boundaries and experiment with sound.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Most commonly I mix and master songs, with a strong focus on vocals. I clean and balance the track, add clarity and punch, and make sure it’s polished, dynamic, and ready for streaming platforms.
