- Proficient in mixing and mastering - Strong communication and project management skills - Ability to work with diverse genres and styles
I'm a mixing engineer who's been in the music world for over 7 years now, and honestly — I absolutely love what I do. There’s nothing like taking a song and making it sound exactly how you imagined… or even better.
I specialize in mixing and mastering, and I’ve worked on everything from Hip Hop and Pop to Trap, Reggae, and Afrobeat. No matter the style, my goal is always the same: to make your music hit hard and feel right.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with more than 600 artists from all over — Nigeria, the U.S., Philippines, Ghana, South Africa — and every project has taught me something new. I really listen, and I care about your vision. Whether you're just starting out or you've been making music for years, I’m here to help bring your sound to life.
Here’s a taste of some projects I’ve been part of:
* Produced, mixed, and mastered "LIFE Vol. 1 & 2" by Mark Ez King — such an inspiring series to work on!
* Mixed & mastered the "Heavenly Vibe Ep" by Possiblevibes — loved the vibe and energy on this one.
* Mixed & mastered "Time of My Life Ep" by Jez Maine — such a personal and moving project.
* Mixed & mastered "The Journey Ep" by Cash Yung — really proud of how this one turned out.
I’ve also teamed up with cool labels like Lived and Learned Entertainment and Lakeshow Entertainment, and I’ve attended music camps and workshops to keep my skills fresh and inspired.

Interview with Sickmix
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: 🎧 Songs I Produced & Why They Mean So Much to Me 🎵 “Make It Quick” – Cash Yung My Role: Production, Mixing & Mastering Why I’m Proud: This was more than a track — it was a vibe I built from the ground up. I crafted those hard-hitting 808s, layered the haunting melodies, and made sure every element screamed confidence and energy. It’s trap with a heartbeat. 🎵 “LIFE Vol. 1 & 2” – Mark Ez King My Role: Production, Mixing & Mastering Why I’m Proud: This project was a spiritual journey. As the producer, I shaped the sonic landscape — blending soulful chords, uplifting arrangements, and raw vocals into something that doesn’t just sound good… it feels like hope. 🎵 “Jaiye” – Banska My Role: Production, Mixing & Mastering Why I’m Proud: I wanted “Jaiye” to feel like sunshine. From the percussion patterns to the vocal harmonies, every decision was made to make you move and feel good. It’s Afrobeat with soul, and I’m proud of every groove. 🎵 “Time of My Life” – Jez Maine My Role: Production, Mixing & Mastering Why I’m Proud: This song is emotion turned into sound. I produced it to feel personal and powerful — gentle piano, warm vocals, and a build that lifts you up. It’s a moment frozen in music, and I’m honored to have helped capture it. 🎵 “Kiss the Dragon” – [Cash yung & Mark Ez king] My Role: Production, Mixing & Mastering Why I’m Proud: A bold, experimental piece. As the producer, I took creative risks with unusual sounds and structure — blending dark tones with melodic fire. It’s proof that magic happens when you’re not afraid to create outside the lines.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on a series now titled - DAIRY Episode 1 and 5 are released already - Im doing it randomly yo create mystery and tension so it retains more attention.. it’s a strategy!!!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Breana marin
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital – and here’s why it’s the heart of my process: I work in the digital realm because it gives me precision, flexibility, and power that perfectly matches how I bring out the best in your music. Why Digital? Total Creative Control: I can shape every detail of your sound with surgical accuracy. Whether it’s cleaning up a vocal, tightening a bassline, or creating depth with effects, digital tools let me fine-tune everything until it feels just right. Recall & Consistency: I never lose a mix. If you want a tweak months later — or need an instrumental version — I can recall the session exactly as it was and deliver quickly. Endless Possibilities: With plugins, I have access to the best gear ever made — from classic analog emulations to futuristic sound design tools — all inside my DAW. This means I’m never limited in helping you realize your vision. Efficiency Without Compromise: Digital workflow lets me work faster and stay organized, which means I can focus more on creativity and emotion — and still deliver professional, radio-ready tracks on time. But I get it — people love the “analog warmth.” That’s why I use high-end analog-modeled plugins and processing chains that capture that rich, musical vibe — all while keeping the benefits of a digital workflow. So while I respect analog gear, digital is my foundation. It allows me to be both a technician and an artist — giving your music the clarity, emotion, and impact it deserves.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My Promise to You When you trust me with your music, here’s what you can always count on: **I promise to treat your song like it’s my own.** This isn’t just a process — it’s your emotion, your story, your late nights and hard work. I honor that with every tweak, level, and effect. **I promise to listen — not just to your tracks, but to you.** Your vision leads. I’m here to bring it to life, not replace it. **I promise to be honest.** If something isn’t working, I’ll tell you — and I’ll offer a solution. Your success is my mission. **I promise to deliver more than a mix — I’ll deliver a feeling.** Your song won’t just sound good. It will *move* people. **And I promise to be with you all the way** — until you listen back and think, “Yes… this is exactly how it was meant to sound.” You’re not just getting a service. You’re gaining a partner who believes in your sound. Let’s make something unforgettable.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: You know what I love most about my work? It’s that moment when an artist hears the final mix for the first time and they just go quiet… then I hear them smile through the phone. That little pause? That’s everything. I love taking a raw, emotional idea and turning it into something that hits you in the chest. When the vocals sit just right, when the bass hits with emotion, when the artist says, “Yes — that’s exactly how I felt when I wrote this.” That connection… that’s why I do this. It’s not about the knobs or the plugins — it’s about being a part of someone’s story. I help people be heard, and help their feelings be felt. There’s nothing like it. Every song is a new journey, and I get to be the guide. Best. Job. Ever.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Common Client Questions & My Answers (in My Own Words) 1. “How long will it take to finish my song?” “Typically, the first mix is ready in 2–4 days. Revisions are usually turned around within 1–2 days. I’ll always give you a clear timeline before we start — no guessing games.” 2. “How many revisions do I get?” “You get up to 3 rounds of revisions included. That’s almost always enough to get everything perfect. If you need more, we can talk — but my goal is to get it right without unnecessary back-and-forth.” 3. “Can you make my song sound like [Artist Name]?” “I can definitely use that as a reference for vibe, loudness, and tone! But my goal is to make your song sound like the best version of you — not a copy of someone else.” 4. “What kind of files do I need to send?” “Please send all tracks as WAV files (not MP3), labeled clearly, and with any tuning or timing edits already done. The better the raw tracks, the more magic we can make.” 5. “Do you do mastering too?” “Yes! I offer mixing and mastering as a full package so your song is 100% ready for release.” 6. “Can you fix a poorly recorded vocal?” “I can clean up a lot — some noise, slight pitch issues, etc. But I’m not a magician. The best results start with a clean, well-recorded source. If you’re unsure, send a sample — I’ll be honest.” 7. “Will my song be loud enough for Spotify/Apple Music?” “Absolutely. I master songs to competitive loudness standards while keeping them dynamic and punchy — so they sound great on every platform.” 8. “Can I sit in on the session?” “I’ve found that artists get the best results when they trust the process and wait for the first mix. But I always welcome your feedback at each stage — we’re a team.” 9. “What if I don’t like the mix?” “That’s what the revision rounds are for! Tell me what you’re feeling — be specific — and I’ll tweak it until you love it. Your satisfaction is the goal.” 10. “Will you work with me if I’m a beginner?” “Of course! I love working with artists at every level. I’ll guide you through the process and make sure you feel comfortable and heard.”
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Mixing and mastering is just a technical process of making things louder and cleaner." The Misconception vs. The Reality (In my Words) The Misconception (What many clients might think): "I'm hiring you to fix my levels, balance my instruments, and make my song loud enough for Spotify. It's a final, technical polish.” The Reality (What I actually do): "I'm not a audio mechanic; I'm an emotional architect. My job isn't to just 'fix' your song—it's to breathe life into it. I take the feeling you recorded and translate it into a sonic experience. The 'clean and loud' part is a given; the emotion, power, and vibe are what I truly build." Why This Misconception Exists: It Looks Technical: Clients see me working in a DAW with knobs, faders, and complex plugins, so they assume it's a purely technical skill, like coding. The "Loudness" Focus: The long-standing "loudness war" has made many artists believe the primary goal is to be as loud as commercial tracks. The "Fix-It" Mindset: Artists sometimes come with a problem ("my vocals are muddy") and see me as the solution to that specific problem, not realizing I am reshaping the entire emotional landscape of the song.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: 1. The Vision & Vibe "What's the emotional core or story of this song? What do you want people to feel when they hear it?" "Do you have 1-2 reference tracks? (Songs you love the sound of, not necessarily the song itself.)" 2. The Practicals "How many tracks (stems) are in the session, and what format are they in? (We prefer WAV files!)" "Are there any specific notes or areas you're worried about? (e.g., 'The vocals need to cut through more,' or 'The low-end feels muddy.')" 3. The Goal "What's the main platform for this release? (e.g., Spotify, album, film, etc.)" "What's your ideal timeline for the first mix?" 4. The Partnership "Do you have any questions about my process or terms before we get started?"
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: A Quick Word Before We Work Together 🎧 Hey — I’m excited to work with you! To make sure your song turns out exactly how you dream it, here’s my advice: 1. Send Me Your Best Raw Tracks Please export your stems as WAV files (no MP3s), label them clearly (e.g., “Lead Vocal,” “Kick,” “Synth Melody”), and leave a little silence at the start and end. Good raw tracks = an amazing mix. 2. Share Your Vision Send me 1-2 reference tracks of songs you love the sound of — it helps me understand the vibe, loudness, and energy you're going for. 3. Trust Your Ears — and Your Heart When you hear the first mix, listen like a fan, not like an engineer. Does it make you feel something? Take notes, but don’t overthink. 4. Give Clear, Consolidated Feedback After listening, gather all your thoughts and send them in one message. Bullet points work great! The clearer your notes, the closer we get to your perfect sound. 5. Trust the Process — and Yourself
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1. Laptop (with DAW & power supply) My brain and studio. Everything starts here — recording, mixing, mastering. No laptop, no music. 2. Universal Audio Apollo Interface Clean preamps, great conversion, and UAD plugins for mixing even without the internet. Reliable and pro-sounding. 3. Shure SM7B Microphone Durable, versatile, perfect for vocals, voice-overs, and even recording ambient sounds. Works in any condition. 4. Neumann NDH 30 Headphones Flat, accurate sound for honest mixing. No room acoustics to worry about — critical when you can’t treat a space. 5. Portable Solar Charger / Power Station Because gear without power is just decoration. Gotta keep the creative juice flowing — literally. That’s it — compact, essential, and everything I’d need to write, record, and produce full tracks, even stranded with just coconuts and creativity.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm a mixing engineer who's been in the music world for over 7 years now, and honestly — I absolutely love what I do.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: How I'd Describe My Style (in My Own Words): "My style is all about making music that feels as good as it sounds. I don’t just mix and master tracks — I tune into the emotion of your song and amplify it. Whether it’s the rawness in your voice, the energy in your beat, or the mood in your melody, I make sure it hits people right in the chest. I like clean, powerful, and balanced sound — but what really drives me is connection. I want your listeners to not only hear your music but experience it. I bring out the warmth, the grit, the vibe… whatever your song needs to leave a lasting impression. I work like a creative partner, not just an engineer. Your vision leads, and my skills bring it to life — full, professional, and full of feeling."
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d like to work with the likes of Drake because of is crispy and bold bass in the way he delivers. It is always fun to meet the superstars, they really deserved the spotlight.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Gain staging really gives a more authentic and natural sound compared to crushing it with the compressor.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on Afro pop, Hip hop, Rap (trap), Reggae Highlife, gospel and others
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I take the emotion you put into your music and translate it into sound. It’s not just about making your vocals clear or your 808s knock — it’s about making people feel something when they press play. I help your joy sound brighter, your pain sound deeper, and your energy hit harder. I like to think of myself as the bridge between what you feel when you record and what your audience feels when they listen. I don’t just mix tracks — I mix emotions. So if you’ve got a song that means something to you, I’m here to make sure it means something to everyone who hears it.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I don’t just tweak knobs and adjust levels — I bring feeling, power, and emotion to your music. Here’s what you can expect when we work together: 1. Clarity & Punch I make sure every element in your song can be heard. Your kick will hit hard, your vocals will sit perfectly, and your melodies will shine — so your listeners feel every part of the story. 2. Emotion & Vibe I focus on enhancing the mood you’re trying to create. Whether it’s confidence, heartbreak, joy, or energy — I help translate that emotion so people not only hear your song, but feel it. 3. A Radio-Ready Sound I polish your music so it stands tall next to the major artists in your genre. You’ll get a clean, balanced, and professional sound that’s ready for streaming, radio, or the stage. 4. Your Vision, Amplified I listen carefully to what you want and work closely with you to bring that vision to life. This is your art — my job is to make it sound exactly how you imagined, or even better. 5. Patience & Partnership I include revisions because I want you to be 100% proud of the final product. I’m here to collaborate, not just deliver and disappear.
