Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I love the works of producers like Hit Boy (who I collaborated with), Timbaland and Pharrell whose sound transcended genres and translated beautifully into different types of music. On the more indie end of the spectrum, producers like Clams Casino (A$AP Rocky, Imogen Heap) are definite reference points when it comes to create lush, texturized sonics that feel expensive and carefully curated. My favourite songwriter of all time is Max Martin (if you don't know who he is, you should).

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I just finished producing a joint EP with Mozzy, who needs no introduction, and Omar Kadir, a R&B artist I invested in early in my career. I am proud of it because Mozzy is one of the best lyricists in the game. Omar is a friend and one of the "day 1s" when I started the music industry. This project is the culmination of lots of combined hustle and hard work.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I'm working with WMG, specifically Atlantic Records and APG. I am also working with Empire on a number of their top tier artists. Beyond the recoded music industry, I just scored advertising campaigns for global brands such as Sephora and Victoria's Secret.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: My path to music was an unusual one. After graduating from college I had a a career in business and finance, and it took me a whole 8 years to understand that 'suit & tie' just wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. While I always messed around with songwriting and music production since an early age, I made music my full time job in 2015 and haven't looked back since.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: If they were still alive: Michael Jackson, Prince, and Freddie Mercury

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Hip Hop, RnB and Pop

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I physically need to make music as a creative release - it's very therapeutic, so the fact that I'm getting paid to do it is just amazing. I also like the independence of being my own boss and working at my own pace.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: When you hire me you can expect the "rolls royce" treatment - everything will be custom made to your specifications, no short cuts, no excuses. I keep you posted at all steps of the process and make sure you are always 100% satisfied with the product.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Take the time to clearly communicate your vision and expect nothing less than excellence.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I like productions that are simple but "expensive" sounding. I take time to make sure the sounds I use are full, rich and expressive but I also make sure I don't over produce records and leave room for the vocals to stand out, whether it's pop, rap or rnb.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I have my own studio in Brooklyn. I use Logic as my main production software. Beyond just producing, I am also a proficient piano player.

A: Keep it simple.

A: Versatility.

A: My own aesthetic, as well as my ability to be versatile and reflect the artist's vision.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: It starts with speaking with the artist and understanding the sound they are looking for. It ends with me translating that vision into a musical reality and providing you with a banger! Everything in between is a professional secret ;)

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I am a hip hop, RnB and pop producer, which means I "make beats" and compose all the music, except for the lyrics. Most clients reach out with a rough idea of the kind of song they want, often providing reference tracks from existing artists that show the kind of vibe they are looking for. Some clients come with existing melodies or lyrics they wrote either acappella or to another beat. I help these clients by "re-producing" the track, i.e. building a brand new beat around their lyrics.
