
Award winning mixing/mastering engineer and music producer who started out as a classical trained musician using this craft to bring musicality to his productions and mixes. His work ranges from big chart hits in pop, singer/songwriter and Hip Hop to crossover productions with classic orchestras and jazz ensembles.
René is a Hamburg based producer and mixer. After studying philosophy and music he started to work as a recording producer, mixing engineer and composer in his own studio in the south of Hamburg. His work can be heard on several records, advertisements, films and musicals all over the world.
He has worked on multiple gold and platinum winning albums and his work can be heard in several commericals, films (shortlisted for the ‘Cannes Court Métrage’) and musicals. René has collaborated on many international productions in which the revolutionary KeyComp virtual orchestra system has been implemented. It has brought René all around the world for large musical productions such as “Beauty and the Beast”, “Sister Act”, “The Little Mermaid” and “The Lion King”.
His list of clients includes among others Disney, ARD, Apple, Stage Entertainment, Unilever, Sony Music, Universal, BMG. Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Using a dynamic EQ on the Mid signal in the vocal range on sustaining instrument parts that is sidechained from the mainvocal allows you to have your background louder without loosing the clarity of the vocals
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a custom build Mix/Mastering room with a very flat room response and incredible sounding SCM100ASL Pro and Dutch&Dutch loudspeakers.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: After studying music and philosophy I started working as a recording engineer for german pop artists. During that time I also started to write songs and arrangements and got into producing some independent bands. I started working with bigger companies like Disney, Universal and Warner and soon it made sense to build a professional studio with decent acoustical design to deliver highest quality masters. For some years now I have been producing as well as mixing and mastering in my own studio a lot of clients from all over the world.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Michael Jackson as his music is full of musicality and shows a lot of creativity.

Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am a very analytical listener and have a strong musical background which gives me the ability to work on many different styles of music.
