I'm a session guitarist specializing in the heavier and harder-hitting side of music, though my playing ability also extends to genres such as classic rock and alternative. With over a decade of playing experience, I'm confident that I can help you bring out the best in any of your projects, whether it's adding a tasty guitar hook or a sick riff.
I'll work with you to bring out the best of your music. I provide free revisions to make sure you get the track that fits your creation perfectly. Recording is primarily done through my LIne6 Pod X3 allowing for a large tone variety as well as direct recording for you to re-amp and add effects to at your leisure.

Interview with Matt Bateman
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Being primarily a metal guitarist, I'd imagine a lot of people would associate that with playing endless chug-heavy breakdowns until my low E (or B) string snaps. While I do play my fair share of breakdowns, I tend to aim for riffs that have a good groove and melody that take the listener on a journey.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It actually all began years ago with the Guitar Hero games. I bought Guitar Hero 3 after trying it at a friend's house and immediately fell in love. After beating the highest difficulty I felt it was time to try the real thing and bought my first guitar. Ten years later, here I am. I've been the guitarist is several bands, started writing my own music, and went to Fanshawe College in Ontario, Canada to learn more about the music industry through their Music Industry Arts program. As far as being a session guitarist, I've only been active for a short time.
