Hi! My name is Chris Troy and I am a full time online session drummer.
I've been playing the drums for 25 years and have played and recorded with numerous bands over the years. I have also been a drum teacher for 13 years and had my own custom drum company, Supernova Drum Co. As you can tell, apart from my family, my life is the drums!
I'm primarily self taught, I would play along to all my favourite bands and try to emulate the way the drummer was playing as well as interpreting the music. I learnt an important skill from those days, to focus on the song. I love my fills, but for me there is nothing better than closing my eyes and grooving on the drums. I'm more than happy to play a basic 1/4 note groove for 15 minutes if it perfectly serves your music!
I went to study the drums at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music in 2004 where I earned a Higher Diploma in Drums. I met many more musicians in that time and gained much more of an insight on how the music business works.
I enjoy listening and playing along to lots of different music styles : from John Mayer to Slayer, I love it all! I'm looking forward to talking to you and hearing your awesome music!
