Arthur Kowales on SoundBetter

I'm a producer, mixing and mastering engineer based in Los Angeles, CA. I've worked with artists from Atlanta, Ukraine, Austria, Brazil and many other countries.

I'm a music passionate. When you start working with me, I take care of your track as if it was mine. My goal is to get the best sound for your track and build a healthy relationship with who I'm working with, being responsive, and open to new ideas.

My main focus is hip-hop, RnB, and pop, but I'll also work on different genres if requested.

Aside from producing, I will mix and/or master your song to a professional, radio-ready stage. If you don't like something you can send me a message and I will revise the mix with no extra cost, I'll be more than happy to be doing that.

Feel free to contact me, I'll answer you asap to help you achieve what you want.

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Arthur is so patient, receptive, and efficient. He was the first producer I've ever worked with to release my first ever song, and I could not have asked for someone better. He listened to and tried every suggestion I had, even if ultimately we didn't go in that direction. Edits took a week to complete maximum which was really impressive given the long lists of edits I would propose each time to refine the song. I loved collaborating with him!

Interview with Arthur Kowales

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: There was a project I worked with an artist from Vienna. It consisted of me producing 7 tracks for her album and then mixing and mastering the whole album, which consisted of 10 tracks. And the most fascinating thing was that I never met face to face with her. All the production, mix, and master was done entirely through the internet. Until this point, I had only worked with singles or few songs through the internet, and realizing that I was able to make an entire album at distance was extremely rewarding for me.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: I usually start asking what references they have. I must be able to understand what the client's vision is, that way we'll both be talking the same language.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I've been producing for 5 years. I first started in high school, not knowing exactly that this could be a career. Then when college came I decided to pursue a career as a studio engineer. I can say that I'm proud of everything I've done so far, everything is a lesson that I can use to become something better.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: Hip-hop, trap, RnB, pop.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: My strongest skill is to be able to, from the beginning of a project, identify strong and weak points that need to be worked to achieve the best song possible.

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: I'm very inspired by Post Malone when working with Louis Bell. This duo is the dream team of any record label. My goal is to understand the artists I work with as good as Louis understands Post when working with him.

  13. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  14. A: My MacBook Pro, audio interface, microphone, headphones, and a midi keyboard.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I use 2 main DAWs: Ableton Live 10 for producing, tracking and composing, and Logic Pro for editing, mixing and mastering. In these 2 programs I mainly use Waves, Fabfilter and iZotope plug-ins, as well as Bias Amp 2 for recording bass and guitars and EzDrummer for programmed drums. My interface is an Apollo Twin.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: The most common type of work I do is mixing, mastering and making beats.
