My own productions (+ my customers) add up to more than 100M in Youtube and 50M in Spotify.

SERVICES:

I can basically mixing your song in a good way being transparent and respecting your idea/essence (if you want).
I'll level/calibrate the whole instruments and I will mix them in the best way. I will master it in high quality conditions.
*I'm able to replace or delete some instruments or structure of your mix, tune and treat the vocals etc.

I can also produce, compose and write a whole song from 0.

I work in hybrid way (software + hardware), and I'm working with great acoustic room, speakers, converters, wires, gear and plugins. (PRISM SOUND, SSL, NEVE, API, FOCAL, WEISS, GENELEC, UAD, etc)

HOW IT WORKS:

-Contact me and send me some references you like.
-Once the project is funded, I will work hard until we get a professional result and it sounds exactly you want.
-I will send you some demos every time I update it.
-You'll receive your final mix at the RMS/LUFS levels you want (without distortion).

Interview with Albert Kick

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I'm proud of all of my projects. For the moment I'm proud of one project that we're still recording and I'm sure that will have a good feedback internationally.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: In a lot of projects, for important djs from my country and other stuff.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I don't know right now

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Analog is the best making what it does. Digital is the best making what it does. I can't waste more time for that. Anyway, I work with 5 or 6 analog gear.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Results. And the difference between a "correct" production to a "notable - excellent" production (depending of the interface)

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The way to live making what I like, creating melodies, rhythms and make my own schedule without repercussions.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: How could I get more RMS/LUFS??? - It doesn't matter. Nowadays Spotify will kill you at -14 LUFS, so don't worry. Anyway, I keep in mind that DJs will need the final song at -6 LUFS aprox. So no problem, that's the way I work.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I'm trying to avoid misconceptions. Maybe something "too simple" like Mid and Side. Too easy, too hard.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: Please, don't send me distorted demos. Final warning.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Results. I can have a 10000 dollars studio or 2M dollars studio. The important part is the result. If my work can help you with your career, that's what matters.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Prism Sound, Neve 542 x2, Focal speakers or PMC, and a high top computer with Cubase.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I began maybe 20 or more years ago. Professionally 15 aprox. I should review the f*ckin fees we pay in Spain.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Comercial. My concept is that your (or my song) sounds good as much people we can. Sounding actual and well produced

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Maybe all the top ones. I don't know for the moment, but I'm happy for my job and I'm working with top people (at least from my country).

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: When something sounds amazing in mono, will always sounds good in stereo. When something sounds amazing in stereo, will not always sounds good in mono.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: All about related in electronic music and others. I love Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars too.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Probably the melodies. This is something a part from the mixing+mastering, but I think that I'm really good making melodies. My other skill is the empathy. I can listen the song like if I were another one from the crowd.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: All that I know and more. For me is not just "mix better that other didn't do", in my case is something more personal. I try to understand the original concept and improve it.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Taking care about gain staging + level match. That's the point. Then, I try to make "that song mine" in the case of a mixing+mastering. This way I'll always get good results.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work with hybrid setup. For one hand I work with high end plugins: Soothe, Gullfoss, Kush, Weiss, etc and on the other hand I work with hardware (SSL Fusion, WesAudio, Neve Portico, CharterOak, etc). The idea is that the final result must sound PRO and can compete with others.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: There are a lot of good producers and musicians. In electronic scene, David Guetta, KSHMR, Tiesto, Lost frequencies etc

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I normally work in mixing+mastering for the moment. I'm making some remixes or covers for important djs too. But I'd like to offering a good song with good mixing-quality just for compete with others. The idea is always the key, the sound it's really important nowadays, but the idea prevails.
