Highly experienced & versatile songwriter/rapper/topline artist with placements in a wide range of films & tv shows from Shameless & The Boys to Paw Patrol & Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Here to help realize your musical vision and add a unique style to your project. I excel in Hip-Hop, Pop and R&B writing & recording but have experience in all genres.
I have been writing professionally for over a decade. In addition releasing original material, I've written for several other recording artists, placements for film & TV, and theme songs/jingles for restaurants, businesses and commercials. As a lyricist, topliner and ghostwriter, I have collaborated with hundreds of clients to bring their musical visions to life. Based in Los Angeles, my work has been licensed by projects and clients including Sony, Peloton, NFL, The Flash, Crazy Rich Asians, Shameless, Animal Kingdom, Black-ish and more. I've also worked with multiple Grammy-winning writers and producers including James Fauntleroy and Rodney Jerkins.
I offer industry-quality writing (rap lyrics, melodies, toplines etc.), and session arrangement when necessary. I did the writing for all of my samples).

Issac nailed it again. Always great to work with you man
I was very pleased with Isaac on this song. I hadn't done music in a few years, and kind of lost the fire. But after working with Isaac i'm glad to be getting back to it. Can't wait to work with him again.
Super quick turn out and nailed the vibe.
Highly recommended. See you on the next one dude

Isaac was a joy to work with. He gave clear cut instruction and vision but didn't micromanage and knew how to let instrumentalists do what they gotta do! What more could you want from a project?! =)

Interview with Isaac Lucas
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I recently wrote a song for the movie Crazy Rich Asians that was performed by the artist/actress Awkwafina during the end credits of the film. It was my first placement in a feature film and the entire experience from writing it to hearing it in the theater was amazing.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Projects for several artists, films & TV shows
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I love what I do and every project I'm a part of will receive my best effort, and you will be very pleased with the sound of the final product.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creative freedom to write what I like with the confidence the client will be satisfied.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Rap verses are only for hip-hop songs, or there are certain styles or topics that aren't suitable for rap lyrics. Hip Hop is the new Pop these days and can be as versatile as you want to make it. Rap on a country song if you want, or sing a ballad over a trap beat. If it sounds good who cares?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you find someone that will work with you to bring YOUR vision to life and customize their sound to fit what you're looking for, not the other way around.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Piano/Keyboard, Laptop, OP-1, Bottomless box of cheezits and a Jukebox/record player.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Songwriting for artists, film and television, as well as performing. Been at it for 6 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Eclectic and Lyrical. I don't write typical flows or melodies (although I can if desired), but no matter what my content will always be poignant with a focus on wordplay and metaphors.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Anderson .Paak or Childish Gambino because they are both amazing and versatile artists.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be unique, not only in how you put sounds together, but in the sounds you use to begin with.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Versatility and creativity. I pride myself on being able to write lyrics for most genres, and when I comes to Hip Hop, tailoring lyrics to fit the topic of the song while incorporating unique flows and metaphors.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A unique vocal sound/melodies, topical lyrics, professional quality & focused delivery.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: With clients I will establish what the goal/direction of the song is, determine what is needed to complete the song/vision and bring it to professional standards, and write/perform what is needed wether it be a hook, verse, entire song, or arrangement.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Childish Gambino Pharrell Anderson .Paak Chance The Rapper Travis Scott Calvin Harris J. Cole Outkast Erykah Badu Logic Frank Ocean Bruno Mars
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Writing and/or performing original rap verses & hooks for Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop songs Writing and/or performing original melodic verses for Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop songs Songwriting/Toplining/Ghostwriting Vocal recording of pre-written lyrics for Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop songs (demo purposes)
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your objective/intention with the song? If i do a rap feature how many times do you want to go "OH SHIT!"? (Maximum capped at lines per verse, i.e. 16 bar verse = 16 "oh shit"'s).
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop
